So could they make a neo ampeg 8x10 with light ply?
I like my 4x10 columns a real nice tuned set vs my set with holey speakers would be great.

I only listened to the first couple tracks, but I'm kind of disappointed that Salem's Pot went from being a really heavy and dirty sound to another Swedish throwback psyche rock band. It's not that cutting of a criticism, they're still a good band and I was never a superfan of their previous releases or anything. Maybe the rest of the release veers more heavy and nasty sounding and I should have hung in, but it wasn't grabbing me.
Wow, they sure changed their style since Sweeden.
EDIT: But yeah, a bit disappointed too.
Went from spooky slow doom to demented clown psych rock...but they didnt forget where they came from the last track Desire is slow and spooky just like i like it, theres also a 20 min version of that song on youtube.

Oh and until the day I get a different car my car can't take anything bigger than a dually.
But is there a sub/hi fi cab that would be more compact and handle the subs of the synth safely?
When your looking at $1500 just in speakers, you're talking about a $3,000 cab. Why not spend $1000 and get a 215 that is still lighter, smaller, and just as loud?

Peavey 410tvx they do like 27 hz and have like 800 watt handling. Itll be more cube like but should be rough same size as a dually. Best part you can find them under $150 pretty easy.
Problem in my car is depth. A dually barely fits at 14" deep and 24" wide and 36" tall.
If I had like a 12" based or single thin column 15" cab I could allow more depth to develope sub frequencies and still fit in my car.
Like if was sized for standard rack width maybe?
Do know how serious you are about going low, but with your size equirements, i think ypur only chance could be a truck tuba sub cab design. But then you need a crossover and another amp and that cab is just lows, so youll need another rig for highs and mids.
Really this is it. You will need serious PA gear to produce synth signal that low at any real volume. Hell, most venue PA's high pass at 50hz to save their subs.
I bought an Orange 1x15 not long ago and though the wood is thick, this cab is not heavy. Sounds great though, and fits in the back seat of my car through the door. I'm fishing for a second one. I've read that folks open these up to add damping, but I haven't yet.
I keep a search bookmarked on CL for 15"s (and thus also 2x15"s), and the The 2x15"s do pop up from time to time, usually the older Peavey one, but I've seen the Ampeg and a couple others.

Just wheeled a couple of fender neo 810s around last week. They are certainly light. No idea how they sound though. I think I lot of people hesitate to shell out for a brand new big ass cab when there's a glut of used bass cabs available. Why spend upward of a $1000 when you can snag an ampeg for less than half of that.
With the exception of custom cabs, this is my sentiment exactly. My buddy has an Eden 810 he wants to sell. It's an incredible cab for sure, but it weighs like almost 200lbs and retailed for like $1800. He got his for a steal at $900 brand new I believe. Even with that steal he is ****ed. Why would someone pay even $700 for an 810 when they could buy a used ampeg for $500 or less all day everyday.
Even a lot of custom bass cabs can be had for less than the price of a new 810 from pretty much any middle-to-large sized brand. I know big cabs are expensive to build and tough to ship so I get why they're so expensive, but that just seems like an opportunity for a really nice smaller 215 from one of the majors. Less parts, lighter drivers, less wood, easier/cheaper to ship etc. Cost savings could be passed to the consumer and there would be a new class of large professional cabs that don't weigh 150+ and cost an arm and a leg.
