Looks like ill be selling some stuff, whatever gets me to $1000, i have some pedals and bass vi to sell first before the pvys start going.

nice score max, not to be a downer but no matter what the ad says get it checked out by a good tech. I've never bought a used amp that didn't need some work. every single one was advertised as "recently serviced". it just means they did the absolute minimum to get it sold.

Yup. The older I get the more appealing things like factory warranties become. Or resellers warranties for that matter.

Exactly what I plan on doing. Delaying picking up my pile of PVYs till when I get the SVT and having my amo tech give it a once over while im there. Hes actually the one that found the amp for me.

played my cheap ass 90 bucks squier affinity P yesterday at rehearsal. stock but for the ddadario chromes. damn. that Thing Needs some straplocks and maybe a new pickup but thats one decent bass.

I'm always seriously impressed with John's builds. I'd love to spend a week with his collection just trying stuff out.

Im having similar extreme gear purge ideas, I have way too much gear... And rather have a few cool pieces I always play vs a minefield of scatterbrained ideas in gear form


The DOD phasor reissue does a nice kinda Leslie sound. I guess it's 2 stage phasing is closer to that sound.

Oh and so far the NYC muff clone isn't my fave on keys, any good OD/Dist/Fuzz ideas? I want insane dirt, not gain necessarily, but if it can tame to decent drive that might be cool, maybe not necessary though.

They are pricey, but a LWA extreme octave has over the top insane gain but can be dialed back to a sweet OD. Plus the upper octave is pretty synthy with some glitch and would work great with medium high end key range.

Re: Gear Purge - I just sold a bunch of cheaper pedals and got 2 amps for them, so I'm pretty happy with that. Got a DOD Juice It amp for my DOD guitar board and ordered an old GK Backline 112 amp. Basically a 400RB in combo form. The DOD has the best clean tone I've ever heard in my life. Previous owner put in a Carvin speaker, so maybe that has something to do with it. Regardless, I wasn't expecting much from it, but was blown away. The dirt channel is a little odd, but really starting to grow on me. Not that it matters, I use pedals for dirt. And the GK is a GK, so I'm not worried. They're always quality.
