Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Any of you brethren interested in taking these off my hands? I posted them (and more) in the classifieds, but I thought I'd try these here. I'm fairly easy on prices, so shoot me a private message and we'll talk!

Boss FZ-2 - $150
Arcane Analog Death Dealer - $125 (lightly used indoors)
Hovercraft Ionostrofear Fuzz - $140 (lightly used indoors)
Earthbound Iron Pig - $140 (black on black, great shape, only used at a few practices and indoors)
Fuzzrocious Mail Order Muff - $160 (custom paint job of a vagina with teeth on a hot pink enclosure)
The Out Sound Warthog - $140 (gnarly Beebaa clone, lightly used)
All prices are Canadian.

Those or the SD quarter pounders are solid can't go wrong with either. Think those old Kramer aluminum necks used those dimarzios they sound great.

I don't care for the SPB-3 sound samples i've been hearing. Too harsh?

(deleted a bunch of carp because measurements don't work)

I really like the sound of the DP122s, the GZR is fine but I think I prefer the "heavier" DP122 rather than the "vintage" GZR.

I've also ruled out the DP127 Split P (rails) for not sounding good and the Fender 63s that everyone raves about as "too vintage" not unlike the GZR.

All those might work better in the real world/band scenarios, but I'm just one bored guy at home.

I feel like a fraud on this thread. Im really more a drone bassist than a doom bassist. Droney doom in any case. Now that my conscious is clear, im interested to hear different solutions youve devised for creating long sustained notes or drones. I always run tons of reverb into overdrive (solidstate amp od) which produces a wave of overtones but i find i need to constantly pluck or strum to maintain the drone-y-ing. Anyone else need to create long sustained tones?

Watched a few freeze demos on bass and other instruments. Didn't like how in the latch setting the held note(s) gets synthy. Maybe that's unavoidable. Thinkin I might try to stack three or more delays. I love how my reverb sounds (the RV-2 is a gem) and works for the material I'm recording right now, but I'm starting to write some more epic stuff and want to be able to slow the tempo down to a glacial pace and still retain the ambience.

My gf has one which she uses for vocals. I should give it a try again. I've used it before ages ago and I remember there was something I didn't like about it, but for the life of me I can't remember what. Mighta been the amp I was using at the time so I'll give it another go. I would really like to get my hands on a Nimbus but I've been soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo broke lately. And everyone who hits me up for my cl posting of pedals I'm trying to rid myself of flakes on me or makes ludicrous lowball offers.

I don't really hear my EHX Freeze as synthy...but I guess you could describe it that way. To me, it has a pleasant, organ-like sound. I run it first in my chain, by the way.

That said, I haven't used it in a song or live set yet. Insta-drone, though. Almost feels like cheating.

EQD Afterneath is at the end of the chain.

It's ok. I'm more of a psychedelic funk player. Doesn't mean I don't love most of the music that gets brought up here.
