Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Exactly... Custom. Your picture from the meetup gave me the GAS as this is what I'm looking to build ish. Still trying to decide if a Jazz nut width is something I can live with long term. Need to take the Black Eagle to practice and try it out more. I'm so used to the ATK700 neck now. But this is between a P and J nut profile.
The jazz neck on the kiloton and sb basses is pretty thick front to back making it more substantial than you might be expecting, it's about the same Feel as my 83 L2000 flat 1 5/8 nut neck just narrower and thicker

G&L have a few neck profiles. I had a SB2 with a #5 (i think?) neck that was pretty narrow (depth wise - 1.75 at the nut) and it played like a dream, sounded good too but there were other issues with it I was not satisfied with how the dealer or G&L looked after me so back it went.

i still dream of fumanchu bass tone
:(

when i deal with them i generally just email the factory, or i go to a bass event that i'll know they'll be at

i got the musicians friend standard plane jane sb-2 with the super thick slab rosewood board
the L2000 and custom fullerton LB100 both have the same nut width, but the LB100 is a much more girthy neck with a thick maple slab board

Yeah. Not a fan of Jazz nut width.

The Kiloton has such perfect pickup placement, though.

Damn GAS.

Yes!

Now I am officially a tube amp owner again.

Here's the beauty, just got it today:

Only 50W, but plan on running it along side my 130W solid state Trace Elliot amp.

Hopefully I will be able to add a bit of tube grit with it, since it, as something unusual for amps of that time, got a gain control for the instrument input signal beside the usual master volume, bass and treble knob.

Else I will have to utilize my Joyo Orange Juice to push it, as I do now for adding some grit to the active PA speaker, which role I hope this amp will replace.
