Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Gonna try the '84 el Toro tomorrow afternoon. It's one of those natural with black headstock so it could have been a model dispayed at NAMM '84.

One part of me wants it badly. The other hopes I won't like it so the money stays.

The seller offered me to try it on a Acoustic 220 2x15, so I'll take my old trusted P bass for a comparison. I don't want to like the sound off his amp and find out it sounds crap throught my rig...

Even with direct links, my family is hit or miss. They’re weird. I did start an Amazon list last year, and got one or two things from it. Trying again this year.

That's how my family is, but luckily they've moved in the direction of basically just buying me lots of used CD's and records if they don't get me a gift card or tools. I do have one brother who always gets me and my other brother some weird stuff. One year it was a poop brown shirt with a bear flying through the air on a four-wheeler with explosions behind it...not really sure what the thought was behind that one lol.

Another track premiere for the new record (which comes out in two days):

Besides the pulsing groove you guys got going, I really gotta say that the flow and progression is amazing on both tracks I've heard so far. I think I like this one better than the last.

I like that shirt just based on the "what the f**k"? factor it must present when worn. You do wear it right?.

Found it. Looking back, it's a bit better than I remember.

Thanks. I wrote lots of both of them, but I definitely prefer this one. There's a bit of upright bass on both of these two, actually.

I always include a large list of CDs/records on my christmas/birthday list. One of the things that family members are usually pretty good at finding. Also books.

Dude, that shirt is awesome.

Probably your brother was just like "Lol, look at this shirt. This rules."

Probably, it was funny that he got one for both me and my younger brother. Books are a great idea, I didn't even think of that!

I gotta listen back through that track on something besides my phone.

Haha, dude that's amazing. That's the kind of stuff I specifically go for thrift shopping. I've got a TMNT shirt that's probably from the 90s and says "Drug Free - The Way to Be." Love wearing that when hanging with my bandmates.

I've also got a shirt with dancing turtles playing a banjo and tambourine on it. It says "Inspiration" on the back I think.

Finally, there's also a shirt with a tiger shooting a submachine gun with flames behind it.

Oh, and a plethora of old man/ugly sweaters. I love those.
