I feel solidly in the middle. Is DG stuff great? Sure. But so is plenty of other stuff. And DG has the quickest flip for me - the B7KU. No matter what I did, it added unwanted harshness to my signal. But I love the simplistic B3K. I feel that most pedals can be fairly versatile, you just have to spend the time to figure them out. And everyone has their own preferences about tone. If it works for you, do it! That’s what I say at least.
This is how I feel. I've only ever heard a few of their offerings in person and fiddled on one quickly once. Great product, just not me. I think I may be more vintage in tonality similar to @ProgressiveDoom.
I think you got a good point about versatility. I think the voicing/character is what you need to really love from a pedal/amp/bass, you'll find ways to make it versatile if you want that.
