How do you like the Thunderclapper?
I tried those strings a few times. They felt OK but died very quickly. That was a few years ago, so maybe they've changed.

I tried those strings a few times. They felt OK but died very quickly. That was a few years ago, so maybe they've changed.
Love it, now I'm just waiting for one of those Dunwich DA120 preamps with blendable gain to hopefully setup "my sound."

The guitarist of Dustern tunes to D standard. I just play my BEAD tuned basses because I can't be bothered to experiment with string gauges.
A lot of their stuff is in drop D (though Steve Von Till uses Dadgad tuning). "Locust Star" is one of the ones in D. Quite a bit of their stuff is in this weird Aadgbe/Aadgad tuning, though. "The Doorway" would be an example of that sound.
Some of their really early stuff was in standard.
Sleep is coming to my town (Tulsa, OK). Got my tickets as soon as they went on sale this morning!

I often am not in the same tuning as the guitarists I play with. Rarely a problem if you're good about communication and have a good ear for harmony.

Can doom\stoner\sludge work in a major key?
I would argue that it can't, though I know many here would disagree.
If we all agreed, we'd all sound the same and life would suck. It's good to do things different.

I coulda swore I saw a projected price somewhere, but it’s escaping me now. I like that particular finish. I also like the basic ergos of T Birds as well as the sound. The Dingbird doesn’t sound like a Gibson, but for many, that’ll be a good thing. Tempted to save pennies toward one myself for when I need a different vibe, plus I miss the neck on my Super J. Definitely have a thing for T Birds these days
It is a little more "traditional" than my other dingwall basses. It would also be the first 4 string I have looked at in a long time.
