How does the 4003S balance? I have only messed around with a chinese copy and it was ridiculously neck heavy.

Chinese copies are nothing like the real thing. The old 70s/80s Japanese copies were much better. How does the 4003S balance? I have only messed around with a chinese copy and it was ridiculously neck heavy.
Yeah, I figured. I was interested in buying one but it's impossible to find one here locally.Chinese copies are nothing like the real thing. The old 70s/80s Japanese copies were much better.
The 4003S balances perfectly, for me.

Haven't been on in a while - really like my current setup and I think hanging out here I'd be shopping too much
Anyway, went to the studio the other day and tracked this monster; hope you enjoy it!!

Huber Breese by chance?I feel your pain, I finally found a shop near me that carries them. I gotta say there seems to be more consistency with newer production years for the neck, but the 4 they had still were a little different from each other. For an investment of that much I would definitely play before buying. Sadly they recently sold the 4003s walnut I was looking at. Love the sound of them though and the neck felt better than a pbass.
Yep. They have nice stuff. They seem to be able to always have a few RICs in stock which is a plus. I played a really rad sandberg thunderbird when I was in there s few weekends ago. Sounded great thru the v4 rig they had set up.That's the one. I moved to the area a little while ago and found out about it recently. Nice place for sure.
My god droolHuber Breese by chance?
My god drool
If they actually have, in stock, what they show on their site, I'd be in serious financial trouble within a week.

I bought mine used from another dude on TB. If you buy used, you can get your money back if you don't like it.Yeah, I figured. I was interested in buying one but it's impossible to find one here locally.

Very similar than the gibson thunderbird i played. Harder to compare as the sandberg is active, so theres a preamp in the mix. I liked the feel and playability of the sandberg a bit more. The control layout, IIRC, was 1 vol, a pickup pan knob, and treble and bass active cut/boosts. Usually not a fan of new 'roadworn' aesthetics, but it was understated. Really felt like playing a vintage, well loved instrument. That's true, Rics do hold their resale... I always forget about that with them. Now I'm gonna browse the classifieds.
@br1qbat I didn't get to see that one, looks rad tho. How'd the pups sound?
Honestly I have never seen a used 4003S sell for less than 1400 which is what they are new at wildwood. Then again I haven't looked hard. They have a Midnight blue that has been calling my name...I bought mine used from another dude on TB. If you buy used, you can get your money back if you don't like it.
