I am stupid enough it took me 2 days to realize I was playing the Peavey with the attenuator for active basses ON (I used that with the Kramer)![]()

Did it start to sound more bassy after disengaging?

Fuller and more punchy. For the "more bassy" part I adjusted the eq and disengaged the compression driver from the cab. I think I have worked out the "problems", I played with the new settings at today's reharsal and my drummer was impressed!

I think you would have to solder the brown wire on that number 2 in the board2. How do I get the mids pot to be 500hz?
Ok, thank you. I thought so, but then it mentions about cutting spots on the board, etc.. I may have a tech do this, just to maybe find a way to install a switch for the 3 mids options, but who knows?I think you would have to solder the brown wire on that number 2 in the board

That's talking about cutting the capacitors, but that's only if you want to change the stock mid frequencies.but then it mentions about cutting spots on the board
That would be nicefind a way to install a switch for the 3 mids options
YesWhen I use the copper tape, which has conductive adhesive backing, do I have to cut out the holes for the pots? I’ll remove the pots for ease of preamp installation, so can I just put the tape in/over the holes then punch a hole in the tape with the pots as I re-install them?

Is that yes as in “cut out the holes” or as in “push the pots through the tape to make the holes”?
I’d cut the holes with a razor knife or something of the sort. It will look cleaner. Is that yes as in “cut out the holes” or as in “push the pots through the tape to make the holes”?
I’m still trying to confirm the mids thing. Now that I look closer at the pic @ihaveaquestion shared, that shows all 3 mids as an option. I know I can’t do that right now. Is what he said accurate? Just double-checking fore I screw it all up...
Sorry, I should have been more specific, heh. Either or is fine, I'd suggest using a small, sharp blade (like the tip of an Xacto knife, to make your initial hole, then you can just push the shaft of the pot through, that'll help ensure good contact between the pot & the copper tape.Is that yes as in “cut out the holes” or as in “push the pots through the tape to make the holes”?
Did you manage to wire the mids as 500hz?Well, the preamp came a day early and I wired it all up
I have the solution for what ails you my friend. Based on the description of your sister, uncle, and cousins, I feel like you could benefit from my experience. I too have not so great family members in my life. In my case the family unit consists of several combinations of the following: closed minded, irresponsible, dishonest, perpetually broke, addicts, and last, but not least, bigotry. They were an emotional burden for sometime, most of my life come to think of it, and were becoming a financial one as well. What'd I do, you ask? I interviewed for a job, hoped in my Jeep, and I moved just over 1000 miles away. Life has been good ever since. That distance is too long for most to drive, but close enough you can get a cheap flight if you need to go home. Also, because I'm out here and everyone else is back there, at most i get exposed to one or two members at a time. When I'm back home I get to control who I see. Hell, more than half the time, I don't even tell anyone I'm in the city and I just stay in a hotel, visit friends, and go to a few ballgames. I'm too far away for them to borrow money because they cant actively observe my financial situation. Its brilliant. I suggest you try it... just don't come to Denver, we're beyond fullEven if it was $5, I'd never see a cent of it. He's one of those perpetually unemployed types, I'm just glad he didn't steal anything. I didn't even want him in my house but I was being civil and figured the other adults could keep an eye on him for 15 minutes. Guess not.
I did not. The little board that the directions show didn’t come with the preamp! I quite like it how it is right now, so we’ll see. If I change my mind I can go to the local electronics shop and get a cap to wire in. I’m just proud I did it all myself! Especially since I now have to find a new pickup... There goes my money saved on not using a tech!Did you manage to wire the mids as 500hz?

HA.
My employer keeps trying to give me reasons to relocate out there and yeah. If it wasn't for the that white stuff falling from the sky in the winter, I'd be out there. Sure is pretty though.
Not to encourage you, because we honestly are having severe growth issues, but it barely snows in Denver. However, This year was the snowiest I recall having in 20 years here... in terms of how long it was on the ground.. Of course, it was 92deg F in Anchorage Alaska the other day, so who knows what to expect anymore; climate change is a bitch.
I have some laying around. I'll find them and let you know what I have. What are you looking for/ what will fit?I did not. The little board that the directions show didn’t come with the preamp!
