I listen to a very wide variety of music. I'm currently messing around with trying to twist traditional folk style music from different cultures into something. I was inspired by Om, particularly At Giza.
I had some sort of Chinese and Indian traditional sounding riff going the other day but I was drinking at the time and forgot what I was playing when I woke up the next day.I really should have written it down or something.
I never heard of "praise and worship" before joining this forum, and since joining I've seriously wondered if most of the people here are in those sort of bands.
That album is awesome! The scales used in a lot of middle eastern music and indian stuff can sound super cool in the upper registers on a bass... some of the hardest stuff with those sounds IME was getting percussion to go well with it, you almost have to go full hippie drum circle with cajons and tablas and other hand drums.I listen to a very wide variety of music. I never realized so many people played at church until I came to TB. As a recovering catholic, 'church music' to me was an impossibly old person playing the organ at a depressing pace and the congegration's monotone singing. Don't miss that at all. Haha.

Satan worshipping doom pedalboard of doom. Of satan.I've always kinda wanted to make an obvious dig at P&W pedal board clubs with a sort of Satanic style anti-Christ P&W, but it just seems so petty, pointless, and would just get shutdown anyways coz well, it's petty.
I was trying to think of how to make an obvious dig at P&W humpback whale bass nonsense, but just coudlnt' figure it out... but yes, this. Exactly this.
Again, without disrespect intended, it's crazy how many there seem to be. As a non-Christian-etc type, I didn't realize that's how non-Catholic Churches worked and htat literally every church had like a dozen musicians doing poopie constantly.
Like are there just a horde of people and they do shifts/rotations? Is it the place where guys not able to have "real" bands go to feel like they fit in? Why are there so many?

The most insane part of that whole album is the random reference to the pterodactyl.
