Someone just told me that the MBD1 can do PD-7 tones, but with more clarity and depth. Thoughts?

Hehehee, thankya. We had our first show booked (we played the verse of Crimson and Clover for half an hour), and had no name. The singer came up with it off the top of his head when we asked "What's our name?" as we packed up after the last practice before the show.
Jeebus, Tripod is still active? Yep, that's me in those pics, I'm the guy who's enjoying himself wayyyyy too much. The site was set up by another one of the guitarists. That mp3 of "Ten Feet Tall" is the only recording of that very silly song that I know about, and I listen to it more often than I'm proud to admit.
The song I get my user name from is here (disclaimer: I didn't write the lyrics, and I don't think they're about me, dang that recording is brittle and bright):

Damnation Audio pedal. Pricey. Gets rave reviews. What I’ve seen it sounds like my modded Pork Loin, but haven’t actually played one. Regardless, it’s more than I’d like to spend for a tone that I already have.Whatsa MBD1?
Nope. LolTrying something a bit different. I replaced the chromes on the Gibbo with Hi-Beams. Can't wait til Thursday band day to see what they're like amped up. Quite like the ringing, harmonic rich tonez unplugged. Wonder if the ol' wildebeest will put out a modicrum of zing now.
I really enjoyed the songthese must have been exciting years, everything in these memories is soo punk.
Seems an almost deliberate choice, that freaking raw, ugly, unfashionable site, for such bands![]()
I could have never picked a name in half an hour like that. It took me 3,5 years to decide for my band, it was like giving birth to an elephant. Maybe I'm just pathologically insecure![]()

Interesting. Anyone here use both?
We were the "suburban kids who attended art school" version of punk.

Never played one. Maybe I should, I've always felt the Bass VI is one of the coolest looking instruments out there.I'm thinking about a Bass VI or something like that (telling myself that learning an extra instruments will be good for my music theory knowledge) anybody got any experience with them?
Kinda like the entire first wave of punkWe were the "suburban kids who attended art school" version of punk.
yeah, and next to the Squier there are now also cheap options to try it out. Harley Benton has a € 200 Bass VI variant. That makes it easier to convince the SONever played one. Maybe I should, I've always felt the Bass VI is one of the coolest looking instruments out there.
I really think 1 note at the time, I wanna force more chords out of me with itOddly enough, because I use a lot of chords normally and used to play guitar here and there, chords come easier for me than single note passages on a bass vi. Maybe I should be playing a bass vi....
I have never taken into consideration 5 or 6 strings basses, until I saw Colin Marston playing. I don't buy one 'cause I can barely play a 4 stringer, but jeeesus, if you can play, it really opens a new world of awesomeness. I would love to force more chords out of me as well... But most of this stuff sounds awful on a regular 4 string bass.I really think 1 note at the time, I wanna force more chords out of me with it![]()

I would love to hear what you do with it, I remember some stuff of yours you posted in this thread (it was a song from a compilation, right?), and digged your stylebeen loving my bass vi. made me realize how much more comfortable i am on a four string and how much i had to work on the b and e
True but now those sites are still the stronghold of web designs of the Mesozoic. Those, and ScaruffiHey! The whole internet looked that way at one time![]()

We did this song a few times, but they did it better (don't listen to any of this stuff at work):
And well, we could have pulled this kind of spooky song off, but it would have taken many takes:
The Abominable Dr. Phibes. And it's followed by the song they got asked to stop playing when they opened for Tripping Daisy on a tour. I loves it, it speaks to my inner 15 year old, even if it is all about watersports (again, don't listen to it at work).
Here in Italy we're locked in again for the COVID, I'm home alone. Thanks for the links, I wish I could understand more clearly the lyrics (not fluent enough for Texan accent, I guess
) 'cause if you say "don't listen at work" I suspect I'm missing a great point of interest.

USA is heading towards another lockdown, depending, on um, how the political situation shakes out. Oh don't worry, I'm not working. Here in Italy we're locked in again for the COVID, I'm home alone. Thanks for the links, I wish I could understand more clearly the lyrics (not fluent enough for Texan accent, I guess

Gods, this lockdown is killing me. Too much time to think, no human contact, I felt so down the last week, I have spent all day in bed. I have picked my bass again only yesterday, but my head won't cooperate, yet.
Even the only other forum I liked has died… If you know any good and very active forum to talk about GOOD movies and (noise, experimental, post-genres and avant-genres especially) music, it would be very much appreciated
I need to keep my mind busy somehow…
Now I'm doing some deep plowing on RYM, even exhumed Scaruffi (that site was so addictive the first years when I had access to an internet connection. He may have some very questionable opinions, and now it's been outclassed by larger, better organized archives, but it was a goldmine for the most experimental hidden gems back then) but I miss a place to exchange opinions about these topic so much now...![]()
Sorry to hear thatUSA is heading towards another lockdown, depending, on um, how the political situation shakes out. Definitely by January.
My hardcore Ric GAS hasn't gone away. Hopefully this spring-ish I can have the funds to get one. Hopefully. This pandemic has really been hard on the wallet.
Gear is something I don't even want to think about now... I had to put on sale the only expensive piece of gear I own, that I didn't really "want" to sell, but what should I do. And I'm sure I won't even be able to sell it, until I'll be so desperate to decide to undersell it for whatever price. Savings won't last so long at this pace, and my biggest fear, that the company I work for will not even exist anymore in a few months, is not unlikely.
Yeah, a great lemonade would be to do some writing, if I can find the taste for playing again. I'm quite disheartened about everything right now, even this band seems cursed.I wish the powers that be would take more account of the psychological and emotional impact of lockdowns.
Regardless, keep your head up @oZZma ... Maybe now is a good time to catch up on some reading or learn a new language or something? Lemons into lemonade and all that.
Not at all! We're here for each other. Vent away, if needed.BTW sorry for the vent, and thanks for being kind and supportive…
Geezer only needed 4Let's talk about these 6 strings basses now![]()
I'm building an EMG Geezer equipped P bass at the moment, so he can shut his mouth if I also want a 6 stringerGeezer only needed 4![]()
