I've heard good things about Waze (though that's only been in the US so I don't know if it's a good map app for Italy). I liked Maps.me when I was in Iceland (though again I have no idea if it's any good in Italy).No, I mean YouTube is the only service I would find truly irreplaceable*. So great for music discovery, documentaries, tutorial/instructionals...
Yeah I know I'm being a hypocrite by not using Amazon or other stuff for their ethics, and then selling my soul to Google for knowledge, à la Doctor Faustus
*(I don't think I could easily do without Maps, actually...) (Jeesus I feel so filthy now)

Yeah, I tried plenty of apps for cycle lanes... Maps is still the most accurate/complete
I live in a metropolis which is not where I was born, and I don't know this place much. Even public transportation would be a labyrinth for me if I didn't have Maps.
@oZZma, what part of Italy are you in particularly if you don't mind me asking? I was lucky enough to be able to visit before COVID and visited Rome, Florence, and Milan.

Has anyone played one of the GCI Bass Brutalist pedals? They are available as kits and the very few sound clips I have heard all sound great. I have been thinking about building one. I built a few of the Brutalist Jr. Pedals for guitar playing friends a few years ago.

I have the 800. Not too hairy. But it does seem to act tube-ish in the power section. As I understand it, the Quilter power sections are their own design and not the 'off the shelf' designs 90% of other class D amps use. It does do big and warm.
Even if it sounds cliché, it lets the 'sound of the bass' through. A grindy bass will be grindy. I love p basses through it. The flip side is the EQ section is basic, so you won't be able to drastically contour the bass's tone.
I just got one recently. I like it a lot so far but haven't cranked the gain. I've been setting the gain around 6-7 and haven't noticed any hairiness, but I've also been using the active input. Maybe I'll try getting some hair from it and report back...
So thru some horse trades I ended up with a Ampeg PortaBass 250 and a Carvin BX500. The Ampeg isn't class D, but it's small and weighs only 14lbs. It sounds okayish but I find it pretty underwhelming, like a blander SVT Pro. It does not get hairy/ballsy enough for me.
The Carvin can do a pretty convincing tube/compressed thing when the gain is dimed, is twice as loud and half the weight. It has too much foo-foo going on that I'll never use. I need to spend more time with it.
That's why I'm curious about that Quilter, I've read it was designed to act more like conventional bass amps thereby not having that class D 'meh' quality. Not much EQ flexibility isn't a deal breaker.

You'll like the BB800. Its doesn't go hairy but it sounds awesome and probably does pedals better than any amp besides my Hiwatt Slaves.

I've been curious about the quilter as a pedal platform when I dont want to lug the tubes around. That's interesting about the power section.

All I remember about it is that its tuned for bass. I haven't tried it against a 71 yet, but I compared it to the newest SC and mine def is tuned for more low end and less high end treble.
Im also borrowing an electrofoods nepentheses atm from a good friend. It's supposed to be one of the better rat variants. I'm afraid to plug it in...
I want to work up a "shroud over the city" quip, but nothing seems to work.
