Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

@NNNN, @bassness I wouldn't be surprised if it's between 80 and 120Hz and the highs being 1-1.5KHz. If you have a parametric you could probably play around with those ranges, because the width of the peaks are probably as important as the gain on the center points. It could also be a low and high shelf EQ.

Which at that point, I'd recommend checking out the Old Blood Noise slider EQ or the EQD Tone Job. IIRC both are shelves for the high and low, and the middle kind of depends on where the other 2 are set.

Damn I miss that game! I still have the CD for that and Morrowind. Since my Xbox went kaput 8 months ago, I haven't had time to game one ounce.

Edit: I need to dig up D2, that's perfect for early morning before work coffee and games. I need to start playing my SNES again too, the hassle of keeping the stuff safe from my kids every time I put it away though has held me back a little...

Theres a D2 remake out there for switch. I'm not going down that rabbit hole again. Lol.

Also loved loved loved Morrowind.

Diablo 2: Resurrected was a great experience! I never played the original, but I had a blast nevertheless.

And this makes me a little sad. Spoiler sort of, but the game has three main endings that change based on how you play, I got the worst one and couldn't even bring myself to play games for about a month afterward. This was back when I was like 16 and games were my main pastime too. Some of the best storytelling in a game ever no doubt.

I'd definitely recommend going and finishing the main story at least. When it comes to video games I'm an over completionist so I love all the side missions and exploration but understand that The Witcher has A LOT of that.

I tried it a bit and didn't get into it. But I haven't had much drive for video gaming in a while. That will change when the Horizon Zero Dawn sequel comes out though!

lol my best friend used to play the first one and whenever we'd play together he'd always opt to go to that game rather than play with me and our other buddies in whatever game we were playing. We'd grief him by mixing up the words of the game until eventually he'd get so confused he'd say it wrong too. We'd say something like "Why don't you go play Dawn Horizon Zero?" and he'd reply "That's not what it's called stupid, it's Zero Dawn Horizon!"

Back to rats :D

I ran my fatrat at 18v today. Totally different beast! Lot more controllable, really need er to crank te distortion and turn the filter off to get back to crazy rat sounds. On 18v it was really a tick overdrive.

Does anybody make a volt switcher in pedal form? It would be great to be able to run the pedal at 9 and 18v on the board and switch with a stomp!

Maybe Saturnworks could make one...? Dying Battery Pedal | Saturnworks Pedals | Handcrafted in the USA They have a switch option on that.

Had some time to kill after dropping my beasts at the vet for teeth cleaning, so I moseyed over to the Guitar Center that wqas close to the vet's office. Found a Joyo "California Sound" distortion pedal in the used case for a paltry $19.00, so I snagged it. Plan is to use it primarily with my guitars through my Yorkie bass amp. So, after hanging in this thread for ages, I can finally say, again, I bought a pedal. Yay, me!

Hmm, I hadn't thought about trying to do the TK 421 thing with the Kool Filters. So, I tried it out. Nah, the EQ points aren't the same, and the TK 421 seems to have more room to shove the sound around. The settings in the pic below sound kind of close to each other, but you wouldn't mistake them. The TK 421 still has a lot to go but the Kool is nearly maxed on the low end, and turning up the low end knobs more doesn't get you much closer.
