... End of Transmission.
Is that Geezer the same as GZR - aka Geezer Butler's "solo" project?

I see now that it is not... But I wish it were! I enjoyed that group. A different side of him. Would love if they put out new material.

Another reason to avoid fancy dinners.*

*fancy ≠ good
I am often of the opinion that fancy often equals not good. Most of my favorite meals are decidedly unfancy! As an aside I LOVE cooking just about everything in my cast iron. I'd wager 95% or more of what I make at home is done in cast iron, and the other 5% only because I have to travel with it and need a convenient carrier etc. that cast iron doesn't have.

cast iron = vintage meal = big bucks
I disagree. Cast iron = using it your entire lifetime = passing it on for generations = cooking anything in it = cheapest long term kitchen investment ever

Seriously, I'm using a pan that my great-grandmother used. I'll never need to buy a replacement. It's not fancy, it's just practical when you learn how to cook on them.

Some of my absolute favorite places to eat are pretty much the exact opposite of fancy.

Diner breakfast is one of the greatest things. For me, it's gotta be the shredded hashbrowns rather than cubed:

I recently went from cast iron to carbon steel and am super happy with them. I can cook anything in these so easily and perfectly now. I still have my cast irons, just use em less.

Many a night has been spent at IHOP, doinked as hell, waiting for my Belgian waffle. Sometimes I'll get the breakfast combo on the side and it looks pretty similar to that breakfast except I get bacon. Gotta agree, has to be shredded hash browns. Regardless, now I'm hungry!

I hear carbon steel is good too, though I'm unfamiliar with them. I'm an old Boy Scout, so cast iron makes sense in that regard. Can you use carbon steel on a campfire/grill? That's one of my favorite things about cast iron - I can use the same pan and/or recipes regardless of if I'm camping or at home. I've had some friends give me a hard time about setting up my "kitchen" while camping, but then they see their dinner vs. mine and their attitudes change!
