I think I might take up my mate's offer on a Sansamp RBI (plus if I can flip my MXR M80 in time that should save me a solid chunk of dosh). I don't have a power amp as yet but I'm thinking of just running it with my SWR 350 head through the effects return and simply bypass the SWR's preamp (at least that's the presumption I'm under of how it works). I'm just curious, if I go for that kind of setup, do I still plug the pedalboard through the SWR's input or the RBI's input? Same deal with the DI, do I run the DI to the FOH from the Sansamp or the SWR as usual?

Run the RBI into the effects return. Turn it down before you turn anything on, since it will be running WOT into the cab from the power amp.

Thanks, bruvs. Gonna ring him tomorrow and talk bizniss.
Let me clarify my previous statement: if the RBI is the same as the SABDDI, and you are running the RBI into the SWR effects return, make sure you have the BASS volume all the way off. I found this out when I had my bass going into my SABDDI, which, when off, was sending my signal right to the power amp, and I found this out by blowing out my guitar players ears.

Wowsers... wonder what the original commissioned price was? The bass itself isnt my cup of tea but I'm getting a chub thinking of an 8 string Ric

And out of curiousity, would EGC be restricted from making a Ric 4003 shaped body for a 1 off custom? I'd expect it to weigh alot less than the giant aluminum bodies they favor, but also know how Ric can be dicks in the legal department....

Well, the big sticking point with Ric, is if you are recreating the look for selling a bass. You can make one for yourself, but not to sell. As far as a one-off, I don't know.

So in a move that may surprise or upset people (unless it's Mike, he'll be stoked).

I've decided to sell my Dually in favor of going back to a sealed 10" based cab.

The Dually is an awesome cab, but after a few months of playing with it and the 66, I find myself really missing the feel/sound of a sealed cab (ala my old Berg NV610) and while the Dually sounds great, it doesn't sound like a sealed cab with 10's.

So I'm going to be moving the Dually on, figured I'd let anyone here have a crack at it first.

I'd rather keep it semi-local to the midwest (I can even meet someone half-way or whatever), but I'm not opposed to shipping.

It's Faital loaded, black duratex, and has a wheat/black and tan grill. But if that's not your cup of tea, it's pretty easy to swap out a new grill cloth.

Construction is top notch, and it really does sound great. I've used it at 3 or 4 shows, and a bunch of practices, so it's still pretty much like new condition.

I'll most likely regret this decision once I have to move whatever monstrous cab I replace it with (either another NV610 or a legend loaded 8x10)

Anyways, if anyone is interested shoot me a PM and we can discuss from there.
