Finally found a way to get a 4001, though it is a MIJ Electra copy.
Planning on replacing the bridge pickup and bridge and, eventually, replacing the binding. That and have a replicated Electra water slide logo on the way to place onto the truss rod cover.

Cool bass. I've had 1 copy ('70s Ibanez), a weird Soviet bloc knockoff (Jolana D-Bass) a real deal 4003 in autumnglo I bought almost 20 years ago for a thousand bucks. Should've kept that real one.
Nowadays I have a 4030 'tribute' some dude near me made in his garage. I put Nordenbackers in it and can safely say that those are great pickups. They beat whatever cheapo Ric pickup lookalikes were in it.

Here is my 1977 Greco neck through. I bought it off the original owner who never did learn to play so it stayed in its original hardshell case for decades, unfortunately he rubbed the name off the truss rod cover. He posted it for $200 but I secured the deal by offering $300 to eliminate counter offers. I thought I was going to have a stroke as I waited for his reply while watching the view #'s steadily climb.

For sure Dude!. I've been waiting for a 70's Japanese model to become available for years but I never expected to luck into this kind of deal. I wanted one so bad was contemplating spending 1200 -1400 on reverb.
Just got a deal on a B3K clone - which was historically my longest-serving pedal at 10ish years. Got rid of mine a while ago, so when a clone that can do 18v popped up for $50, I had to grab it. Sounds as good as I remember. Similar to my MBD-2, but scooped with more highs. Gotta get it all in the mix the next few days and see if I prefer it at 9v or 18v.
I'd be thinking about adding a second level to that last picture, that the pedals can attach to that will be a couple inches higher than the main controller. That way you can hit the button for all of them, and run at least some of the cabling underneath it.
I have them flat on the bottom so that the top shelf (top picture) can be as low as possible behind the gigrig. Then I only keep the pedals I need to be able to activate manually on the top shelf. It will be on hinges so that it can flip up for access to the pedals stashed behind if I need to tweak them. I'm wanting it to be as low profile as possible with two layers of pedals so I'll just have to route the cables between pedals.
I am probably going to change out the quasar generator with a smaller univibe. This one sounds incredible with a legit transformer in it. But it's in a massive box taking up a huge amount of space.
The first band were apparent regulars at the place but showed up and started late AF and didn't say anything to any of the other 3 bands about it. Totally unprofessional and pissed me off, bad. After that, they didn't even stick around to watch the other bands; they just sat over in the main bar section and played the jukebox. I won't say their name here.
We did our set 2nd and I realized I have come to rely on my side dots WAY too much. I had a hell of a time singing and playing without being able to see on the dark stage but we made it through. I gotta tell you, it's unexpected and nice to have other bands complimenting my bass tone. Apparently mudbuckers and a maxxed out CM-2 OD is the way to go...and a black russian Muff and a 535q wah. Nobody believed it was all leftover guitar pedals until I showed them lol...
3rd band was Wood Witch and fairly compatible to us but lean heavily into their witchcraft-stoner-doom image. We all really dug them. The singer was a super cool dude. The drummer reminded me of Red Forman. Grumpy but loveable, I guess.
4th band, the headliners, were Sunrot. These guys just killed and were cool af. I noticed the bassist (with an absolutely shockingly massive tone-I'm totally jealous) was running one of those Verellin heads you guys are talking about into an old Peavey cab with 10s and 15s. Absolute thunder. I hope the rest of their tour goes well and they fix their AC or they're gonna die once they get to Louisiana...
We got $25 and my personal tab was $135. F*ck.

Yeah. The payout on alot of our shows is so small I usually just give it to the touring band. Where yall based out of? I'm wanting to start doing more like mini tours starting in September or October. It'd be cool to play with some other stoner/doom homies
I love when people notice and compliment my tone. I had one guy become upset with me because I wouldnt admit to using a Fender bass.....but I dont. I tried to explain I use a heavily medicated Squier Precision bass with only two pedals and the rest is amp settings
. You did pretty good, your tone got complimented and you put on a show and got $25 off your $135 tab wich brings your total tab to $110

Specifically Newport News, VA but we’d go as far as Virginia Beach or Richmond in the other direction.
Is there a decent scene for this kind of music in that area? We are based out of Tulsa Oklahoma, the scene is still pretty small but is growing surprisingly quickly.
There are a lot of bands dying to play out but not very many venues to play unless you do pop covers. When we lined up our first gig at Oozlefinch Brewery on 7/29 we had metal bands falling all over each other to play...for free, more or less. Hell, we had people from our own practice space complex show up and let us know they want to get in on next time.
The scene feels ready to become something pretty soon but we'll all see how that goes.
