since being dropped from the stoner trio (I guess, haven't heard back from them), I have been playing more guitar, just bashing out chords in the living room. Now I have guitar amp gas. I won't buy anything, just wanted to share.
Man I played that 5 watt Blackstar tube amp, that thing is killer I just hate the 400 price tag for 5watts. But you should get one of these little buggers for the price of a pedal. Tube pre ss power but has MP3 input and headphone out etc.

Had a good Warp Rig practice last night. We had a lapse in practice for something like 2 months and just started practicing regularly again in the last few weeks. We've been working on writing new material, by roughing out how we want songs to progress feel/rhythm wise and not getting bogged down in fine details. We'll go back later and fine tune the riffs, work on adding some variations and all that. It's been working well so far, last night we finished a second new song we were working on and wrote an entire third new song. We've been writing everything so that it flows together, usually practicing each new song by starting with the end of the previous one. I felt like the demo was kind of all over the place stylistically. Which is fine, but it didn't feel like it flowed together much to me, more just a collection of various songs. This time we're writing with a recording in mind, even if the whole writing in sequence thing doesn't pan out perfectly in the end. Hopefully once we get at least 6 songs down we can start fine tuning it and working towards a proper recording.

Currently I'm playing through a Tech21 Trademark 10, which is more that adequate for my skillz. I'd love to get a nice small tube amp, but the ones that I like are out of my reach, $$-wise.
I've contemplated doing a kit myself, but they aren't really all that much less money than a complete amp.
I'ts fun to window shop though.
