Totally agree, but I do wonder why he keeps issuing them in such limited runs.

Facts. I have only played one attainable phaser that is on its level. He really should make it regular production at this point.
I don't know, maybe less people saying how awesome it is? I know I emailed back and forth with him a short bit on the dark tides. Not to say I had any impact, but I got that impression he felt that one was something soeciwk
To be honest Earthquaker is one of my all time favorite brands, boss and Keeley too, but there's something about what Matt does that just hits it for me. What's wild too is his non dirt pedals are so damn good but they fly under the radar.
I need to send him some praise on the phaser, it truly is something special and I don't think I've been able to find a not awesome sound in it.
BTW I got the latest guitar mystery pedal yesterday, so damn good. I'll hold off on posting it for anyone else who's waiting.
Oh and @kleinenenten, when you get around to it, you gotta check out the heavy weapon. It is so dang good and filthy, but has an amazing range of tone. Wooly to snarl, to chainsaw, and they stack so well in parallel and with other dirt too.

Hehehe, I got mine yesterday too. It's neato, but I haven't even used it on guitar yet. I've just been putting synthesizers through it. I imagine it works even better on guitar.
Haha, I believe it. I've only messed with it on bass. I immediately thought, man this would be perfect on a minimal board. I really dig some of his philosophies as of late. You can essentially use it almost as 2 different pedals, and for the limitations it does have, it's almost like you have a feeling that you don't really need more than what it's got and it can be used in a variety of ways. Real cool, not to even mention how kick ass his art is on this year's run.
It is freaking great on guitar, though I have mainly been using it for bass.
I've got a Dunwich Wizard Fuzz clone arriving soon. Anything I need to know? My specific questions are about the EQ. The goal is a flat EQ, but looking at the page for the official product it's "passive". So does that mean I have to crank the low/high to prevent cut and keep it even? Other than that, any suggestions on the depth settings? I can see myself getting lost in the nuances and just tweaking. I'm excited to see how it compares to my old faithful Pharaoh Supreme!

I was looking at those and it just so happened to be when the Whataphaser went on sale, so I grabbed one of those. I've been on a ridiculous dirt bender lately, including three muffs just this month. I still almost put it in the cart. I have a problem.

I know that feeling. I'm starting to feel the same regularly now...picking up something to progress toward finishing my rig, but I can't help it for the same reasons @scabpicker can't...so hard not to pull the trigger.
I'm waiting to hear back from him that the regular run will be no different than the Wild Kyle, just no glow or autographs. Fine for me, let the peeps that'll truly prize the collector piece. Honestly the same reason I move any of his mystery pedals that I just don't see using regularly.
So, umm, I really had kinda sworn off buying any basses or guitars unless I found the Fernandes Rick copy of my dreams. We played a toy drive benefit tonight, and they had a raffle. I decided to buy 6 tickets for 5 bucks, and put them in the various raffles they had going. One was for a guitar, and I thought "The hilarity is, I have no need for it, and will probably win it."
Of course, I won it. I've never had a functioning shredder guitar, so I'm probably going to keep it.

The band has one gig left in 2023 - this Friday. Then we will hiberate til early spring. Hopefully going to record a full length in that time.
Also one of our prior tunes is likely to be featured on an upcoming Weedian bandcamp/youtube compilation, so we got that going for us, which is nice.
So of anybody has any recording tips for recording gnarly fuzz, I'm all ears. Otherwise may ol' Santa be good to ya and may dreams of fuzz pedals dance in yer head and all that.

For me, experimentation is key. I have the luxury of recording my bass at home in my mini studio, so when I do it, i have a ton of bass tracks coming in that I can mix, blend, reamp, etc. I usually have a di straight from the bass going into an ABY which feeds both a series of pedals and an HX Stomp, with all three of those signals going into the interface. After those have been captured, I'll reamp the di signal into my amp to capture any crazy dirt that needs displacement to sound right to my ears. After that, it's all plug ins and IRs and mixing hell. It's a lot of work, but I feel like I can capture what I want. Then again, if I couldn't with all that, I'd be worried. Granted, I wouldn't be doing that with paid studio time...
It's gonnabe a diy recording. Plan on a DI, maybe reamping that. Also the basic sm57 on a speaker type stuff. I'm trying to shoot for simple and straightforward
