Bryce the Aria Cardinal basses are 32 inch scale. Not pricey and MIJ Matsumoku factory. Played one at my local mom and pops guitar shop and I dug it. Good tension and decent tone. There is a harder to find twin pickup model out there too.

Does it do that growly mean tone? At 30" it's a rounder tone. I'll get new rounds for the bronco and try that first.

The dude from royal blood that was shared here has awesome tone and he has that cheap dual pickup 30" scale gretsch bass and a fender starcaster 32" scale.

short scales are really odd to me. i can fly on a 30 inch but i feel like i'm playing guitar. plus they dont do well with lower tunings.

I love short scale because it feels like a guitar.

I hate I can't down tune though. But I have gotten down to B, just couldn't play hard.

Weird. I've only ever played finger style, and I used to play as hard as physically possible, and I never really had blister problems.

I got blisters on my fretting hand on the very tips when started Playing a lot. I played finger style or with nails from the start and never blistered that hand that I can remember, and I do play too hard, trying to calm it down.

Hey, all the tech savvy guys here, looking at the block diagram for my amp, can someone help me decipher what this is telling me the EQ is at when the knobs are at "noon"?

I'm seeing a big hump from the lows, and scoops from the mids and highs, correct? I assume the bottom line is the lows, middle line is the mids, and upper line is the highs?

Here's the diagram:

dude! I heard about the tooth

I was already planning on calling a dentist this week too, because I need a new one and I have a broken filling on the other side of my mouth. It's clear from looking at the broken tooth that it was 75% filling and the filling broke, leaving just a thin outer shell of tooth. It probably should have been a crown, but I was a tween when I got all the fillings in my mouth, all at the same time. So they're 20+ year old amalgam and I think they're just falling apart. I'm waiting for the dentist's office to call me today to schedule an appointment. It doesn't hurt at least, no exposed nerve or anything.

Lay off that pizza....

Which one? And what kinda pizza? Olive wid a pit?

Julian is razzing me because I broke it while eating pizza. It was pepperoni and mushroom. It could have been anything, wasn't from biting on anything hard. Just from having a hollow bicuspid with a missing filling, which I wasn't aware of at the time. Dunno if that happened at the same time or if it happened in my sleep or something.

or at least get better pizza.

also how'd the drummers go?

It was all over the place. First guy was last minute, so he hadn't learned the songs ahead of time. He was a decent drummer, kind of beat kit, great attitude and really knew/loved the music style. He showed up with a HOF hoodie and a Black Cobra shirt underneath. He's also local, so I could jam at my warehouse. Second guy was the best when it came to technical skill, wasn't really aware of the style or the bands I mentioned but seemed positive about the music, also seemed like he was kind of caught up with college and had some transportation issues. He was out of town, in Santa Cruz. Third guy was in the same area, really nice guy and a fan of the style of music, but he was really a beginner level drummer. The drummer I tried out on Friday is the best lead so far, I sent him a couple of songs without drum tracks to play along to and work on and we're getting together again sometime this week. I'm also still waiting to hear back from a couple more people, so we'll see.

Excellent on the drummer progress.

Had similar issues last year and just this year had the final cap placed over the molar. I did have exposed nerve but it didn't hurt, nor did I take the advice to get a root canal. Asked they just cap over it all and hope for the best. This cap is made of some new fangled titanium impregnated porcelain. If I do have to get it replaced my dentist has to buy a special grinding wheel to score and break it off.

I put myself in this predicament letting work dictate how I spend my time. Let this be a lesson boys. Don't let the man push you to the limit.
