Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Jammed on the album while running over lunch. Dug it big time. It was hotter than hell out, mid-80s, humid & sunny, so Miserable made for the perfect soundtrack.

Mid to high 90s here, mowed my front lawn and the neighbors. I left my phone in my apartment when I was over moving more stuff. So Tomorrow I'll listen as I do the back, weed, edge and paint my barn red. Family coming to visit gotta look proper.

Well that sucked balls, but at least it's over. The surgeon couldn't remember seeing a more inflamed nerve than the one in my tooth. So that's something. Time for pills and rest.

He get any gnarly pics of it?

My rock band Mass Driver has a pretty kickass show coming up on the 12th at the Birdhouse in Knoxvegas. We're playing with a hardcore band out of OK and an Indie sort of band from Nashville.
It's a really kickass venue. It's labeled as a "community center" but it's basically a house with a PA. We've played there before and it's always a blast. So for the three of you that are within a reasonable distance from here, it would be rad to see you there.
We're also shooting some footage for a music video so you have a very good chance of becoming famous.

My other band The Appalachian surf team is still going strong. We have a few off the wall shows coming up (car shows and such) so if anyone if interested in coming out to that stuff let me know and I'll give you the details.

Here are a few videos from one of our last shows in downtown Knoxville. Enjoy!!

Yea I've been here for a long time. It's just been awhile since I've posted.

I'm always going back and forth about the terror and 2x10 ISO. I always get a hell of a lot of compliments on how it sounds from people that see the surf band, but it never sounds like it has enough punch. But I'll keep that set up for now. Their is something to be said about being able to carry your entire rig, and bass, in two hands.
Especially after moving my big rig for Mass Driver.......it's a welcome change.

Speaking of which... we finished up our LP a few months back. You can download it for free (donations are always welcome) here

So apparently the VEGAn drummer went back to the studio before practice tonight to do some more minor changes to the mix...glad he did, IT SOUNDS AMAZEBALLS!!! I've said this before about prior mixes, but it holds most truth now, I don't know how it can sound better after mastering but I'm sure it will, I can hardly fathem that. Mastering on Wednesday...RRAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWRRRR!!! its all coming together. Can't wait for you guys to hear it.

New song is coming together real nice too.

Starting new Bongripper now, it makes me feel so cool that I own the Dunwich preamp used in it. Such a shameless fanboy I am.

Flier for our next show.
