Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

"I am 41 and I am metal".

But he is from Old Toongabbie, and I think that's where the hobbits finest pipe weed comes from.

Well, looks like Friday will be the day that I get "the camera that goes where no camera should". IF the wife can get the morning off to drive me to and from.

If insurance is out of the question. I Dr. Askrere offer my services. My patented procedure includes one boxed wine of your choice to be enjoyed in 20 minutes. Then I bust out my hand crank toilet snake with webcam attachment. Which means if you act now and get the deluxe package I can upload the experience to your digital cloud, and live stream your procedure on Skype to anyone you want.

This offer stands for anyone.

@ BeeBassDude

Grab one of those SVTs if the price is right.

My mid-70s Magnavox era one has been a workhorse, and other than the occasional bum preamp tube (and the time I took it to a questionable tech) has been nothing but reliable.

ive owned a 71 blueline at the same time with my VR, a/b'd they sound identical so id just be buying it for "cool" factor. they actually have a 70/72 blueline with the late 70s one at the same store but its a little more beat than the late 70s.

SVTs rule.

just a heads up, atomic has two SVTs and a V9 cab with 3 missing speakers. i reeeeeally want the late 70s SVT they have, i may make a trip back next week (thats probably BS as i can never bring myself to move the VR).

they also have a verellen big spider there, tried that out with the SVT. so yeah that pedal is a piece of garbage haha. for all the hype verellen gets id expect way more out of a 200+ dollar fuzz. sounded horrible. one of the most "hollow" fuzzes ive ever heard.
Yep, these were my thoughts as well when I "owned" one for 2 days. Tone would have been kind of cool if I was doing a drum/bass duo, but for a full band mix that thing creates a giant hole where your sound is supposed to be.

You got the GoCo(lon) mounted with wire or zip ties?
And, good call on "Brown Eye Gravy". We always called it "Beef chunks in Gravy."

What ya gotta do is find the SVTs with the 6146 output tubes

Well, I'm off to the dentist in a few minutes. Looks like one of three things will happen : they'll make an incision in the gums to drain the abscess and fill the cavity, option two is a root canal followed by a cavity fill, option three is yanking the tooth. Not looking forward to this.

All of the options suck, but it's gotta be dealt with.

Yeah, anything's better than what's going on now. Pain relievers don't work, haven't been sleeping, eating is painful. Also going stir crazy sitting around the apartment - i actually want to go to work - **** must be serious, haha.
I'd be surprised if the dentist didn't put you on antibiotics before doing any wet work. When I had an abcessed molar, I got the infection down before they went in.

Good luck, hoping you get the drain and fill option and not the straw holder option.

Good luck man, hope it goes smoothly for you. I'm going in for my root canal on Thursday.
