I THINK it would be about that, taking into account the tax credit you get from the gub'ment on your income taxes.
Remember interest and taxes are part of your tax return as well. Get a nice bit back from the govt on those.
For me it is figuring out how much will be "lost" in owning versus what is "lost" in renting, and then taking in to account what the freedom to do what ever I want with the house is worth.

All I can say is I know there are more than a few owners of the same cab that do not have the issues he is experiencing.

Nice skull! My wife and I have a nice little collection of skulls and bones - we find a surprising amount at my family's property. Your story reminds me - I was in the U.P. with my buddy a couple of weeks ago and we drove up to Lake Superior. We took a walk along the beach so his golden retriever could go for a swim (too cold for people). Well the dog was a hundred yards or so down the beach and he started chewing on something. I walked over there to see what he had found and it was a dead coyote in an advanced state of decay. Pretty shaging brutal looking. Still had some skin, hair and flesh left on it so I left it alone, though I kind of wanted the skull.
Mike given the ever increasing gap between the upper class and the middle class, pushing the middle class way down into an area just above lower class, I'm not sure how you can make the blanket statement that house values will continue to rise and inflate. The value of a house fluctuates with the market and property is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. The average US college graduate now graduates will more than $30k in student loans, not to mention any additional debt they may have racked up, then they have to go work a minimum wage job for possibly years until something real comes along. Every year it's going to take new adults longer and longer to be in a position to buy a house. I don't see property/houses being these forever upward climbing value investments.
And askere, I'm not sure why you're even talking about how you'll be upset if the cabinet is designed to only work with certain amps. That is obviously not the case, and there is apparently something wrong with your cabinet. Talk to the person who built it instead of making wild speculations and driving yourself insane.
Regarding the 3 ports instead of four, that's how they're designed now. Mainly so they can use the same baffle design for the Dually and Dually T.

My Dually has 3 ports. I have pushed my B1500 in to clipping, and not heard a bit of fart from the cab. Faital speakers too, same builder.
Only other thing I can think of, is that your signal may be sending some weird sub harmonic signal that you cant hear, but is making your cab unload below tuning frequency?

Btw... when I sold my house that I bought for 84k I had put down 4k, made nearly 75k in payments and upgrades over 8 years. That's alot of bread. But if I rented the same place I would've spent 900 a month or more for a total of 88k over that span and noone would've given me a check for 30 grand to move out!

What I meant by working with certain amps etc. statement, was that some of the advice was go try other amps, or EQ differently.
And I was trying to say I own multiple amps of different makes, and wattages and they all cause this. If I found one EQ or amp that worked, that's still not right, like your saying it's the cab. I realize this takes anything you can throw at it.
Since you're here now, when you play with your band and use your orange what do you keep your gain and master at? And is it chest thumping, ears should be protected loud around you?
As for the amp going into clipping that could be an issue, but this sound seems consistent with any amp I play with. I'm very bad at determining these things, but I don't think the gk would clip at less than half gain and master. Also got curious with that, and a few times I maxed the bass it got terribly farty, that was just a test, as I figured this could handle max bass from amps possibly, but it didn't, that was also me thinking since I kept getting this weirdness maybe more bass and volume would break it in.

I also have run my shuttle 9.2 up to clipping through the dually i bought from ron with no bad sounds coming from the cabinet. Bad sounds from my playing are another matter altogether though.
Gain is around 9:00 and Master is around 10:30 with my bass volume knob all the way open and the WF also pushing the amp. You definitely need ear plugs to stand in front of it at that setting. It can get a lot louder and does it without breaking a sweat.
You can hear me three blocks away. Confirmed by a coworker.
Also maxing the bass is a bad idea in general. Most amps have a low shelving around 35-40hz. This is well below tuning frequency for most cabs and will cause them to fart at low power and volume levels. Low mids are going to be more effective in increasing volume and punch.
Well the shuttle 9.2 is supposedly 900w at 4 ohms. So pretty damn loud when its clipping. Loud enough everything in the house rattles when im playing it in the drummers basement in the practice room. You can feel every note through the toilet upstairs when trying to take a dump. Really weird to get an ass massage while crapping.
Damn, see I could be anywhere from 1" to 20' from it and it doesn't bother me. My stock corolla sound system can bother me at full volume.
Oh yea for sure, and the alphabass shelves at 80hz.
My main EQ'ing would be flat bass and treble and very boosted mids.
