Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

What you looking at? Also Corey, mike, and Sam what are your thoughts on them?

I had the MkIV type, which had the active EQ. It was a mixed bag, it wasn't quite loud enough for me in some situations and fine in others. Depending on the tone and the cab I was using. It could get pretty bright, but sounded pretty full and huge with the volume cranked way up. I would often dial back the high end a lot on it. It could get a pretty crazy overdrive when cranked up full, I used it that way when recording a lot of bands that wanted heavy bass tones. I liked it a lot for a long time, but it didn't age well for me as I found other amps that could either get overdriven easier or were much louder. If I didn't use it so consistently with guitar, I probably wouldn't have kept it as long. It can be a great amp in the right circumstances, depending on your needs and tastes.

My friends cool and all but he comes over all the time now and asks if I'll cook or have something prepared... It's like dude I'm not your Mom why you showing up to ask that.

Finally he admitted he's broke until his financial aid shows up. I don't mind being chill with a friend who needs something, but I'm not a soup kitchen lol and while I'm not broke, he'll go to town on your poopie if you don't watch out. I went to the mexi market the other week for muffins and stuff and he ate every dang thing I bought save one and he had picked parts off it to try it...

Buy him 50 pound sacks of rice and dried beans. Not great eating 200 meals in a row, but it will keep you moving.

You'd dig my job then... I can't code for sh*t, but I do "requirements gathering"... I talk to the business people, document / itemize / diagram their needs, and deliver it to the programmers to build.

Basically, I am him:

I'm a people person!

THAT IS NOT OK.

A friend of mine has a roommate that does the same thing, only the roommate isn't broke by any means, he just doesn't know how to cook and if you give him an inch he'll take a couple of miles.

I second the rice and beans suggestion. When I first moved to ABQ and was broke I lived on bean burritos and rice for a few weeks. At any rate, don't let that ******* eat all of your food. A good friend wouldn't do that.

Yea, most people I've noticed in the last few years living alone each have quirks that manifest when they are at your place. Weird little defiances that like they'd flip poopie if it was reversed but don't notice it when they do it to you.
