Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Far as I've been told by friends more into this, and gun store people. There is no registration in Texas, only a bill of sale of you buy it from like academy or walmart. It's up to the owner to do as he deems to approve the trader/buyer. My friends under 21 and here he can't buy a hand gun in stores, but he can buy one from a private seller who is cool with it.

'murica.

I love eggs but those are just taste too weird to eat. Them and fish and organ meats are some of the only things I won't eat.

Whaaaaat, man, fish is so good. But then I've been told quite a few times I have weird tastes. I really dislike lettuce and tomatoes and stuff like that, but love raw shellfish and Brussels sprouts and mushrooms and other weird stuff. Escargot? Awesome. Caesar Salad? Not my bag.

Specifically the Hi-tone HT200, I emailed Clayton Calloway, the guy who runs it, a few weeks back. Said I was the first person in their 5 years of business to ask about slave outs/slave amps.
Hah, cool. I've been talking to him too about the same amp. Pretty sure I want one, just trying to decide if it's an ok decision for me, or a really dumb one :P

I figure if and when I buy another amp, it'll be a Hi-Tone. I looked at the reeves, but I don't want a bass tweaked take on the Hiwatt, I want to OG AP version, just the same as the guys I listen to used. Plus it's the proper size and won't look silly and small atop my 2000s cab. Plus, I was really impressed by Clayton's response and willingness to do oddball stuff (such as slave stuff). And I mean...those insides are just...so pretty.

Buuuut, somebody did recently offer me another Sunn for a couple hundred bucks...though I still think I'll go for the Hi-Tone and just save up.

BTW, have you looked at the SAP 200 they do? I don't think it's for me but I'm still pretty interested in the whole boost/cut channel thing.

Yesterday I let him have a tortilla.

My food is kinda particular I mostly eat veggies and meat so the key I'm finding is buy meat in a bulk buy and freeze in ziplocs to individual portions. That way it's like unless I'm planning to cook for people it's painfully obvious this is a solo operation intended for a later time.

I bring out the raw broccoli and offer it as no one but me would eat it lol.
Too bad she isn't a female friend so you could work out a trade that benefits you both, or at least you could offer her up free protein shakes

All the DR preamps are identical across the power spectrum for reference. The DR504, DR103, DR201, and DR405 all had the same basic preamp (equivalent amongst years since the pre had changes from year to year, see mhuss.com)

How are those?
I've been looking at the ring mod but I keep thinking it's probably better to save up and get the full thing.
I LOVE it man. It's the best sounding trem I've ever used. No tone loss. So warm. Deep. If the ring mod is anything like the trem it'll be awesome.

You guys going to come through Austin at some point in the next few years? haha.
Yeah man, feel free to have some Texas dates on the next tour. Want to hear miserable live!

As for cooking, a $13 pork shoulder with some Goya mojo sauce in a crock pot on low 8 hours. Eat all wet, or I strain all the cooking liquid and shred the pork and put it away. I then refrigerate the liquid until the fat rises to the top and hardens, then save the lard puck and when I'm hungry throw a bit of lard and shredded pork in the pan. Eat that crispy goodness with a sliced and fried plantain or rice and some thin sliced raw cabbage and onion with lime juice. Will last me all week.

Man I just made almost the same thing for lunch today. Chicken Cuban Tacos. The guys can't go more than a month without some fried plantain. That means either Cuban tacos or Platano fritoles for breakfast. The later is fried plantain quarters, refried beans, scrambled eggs, and sour cream on the side. Usually make salsa to go with too.

Cuban and taco should not go in the same sentence

I love Cuban food. Cubano sandwiches, garbanzo bean, aka Spanish bean soup, arroz con pollo y frijoles negras, platanos... Yummy!

The Prince of Polka!!!

Weird Al, Off the Deep End was one of the first albums I ever owned. I had a dubbed cassette that I made off a neighborhood friend's copy. Must've been third or fourth grade, somewhere pre-middle school. That was the album with Smells Like Nirvana, though I loved the songs Trigger Happy and When I Was Your Age.

You should name it Toby if you get it.

Brussel sprouts, kale, cabbage and broccoli and others are all really the same plant that humans bred differently into different things across the ancient world. Lettuce and tomatoes are good. I'll eat shellfish, not raw. But then again they are like massive oceanic cockroaches.
