Well no reply yet from the Great Gear Absconder. Also, informed the landlords that we'll be getting the shag out sooner than later, if all goes according to my calculations the owners of the house we're looking at will be contacting current landlords for a reference today.
I really want to live in that house. We've been in this tiny-ass 1 bedroom apartment for three years, no storage, no laundry on site, no off-street parking.
No room for either of us to work on our hobbies/projects.
No way to avoid waking up someone trying to sleep in the bedroom.
We have this goddamn alternate-side parking in the winter time and the Parking Enforcement folks are efficient and merciless - sick of dealing with it.
Laundry is an event that takes 2.5-3 hours - avoiding weirdos and homeless people sleeping on the laundromat floor - sick of dealing with it.
Can't keep 90% of my gear in the apartment - literally no room.
Can't have guests over - nowhere for them to sit.
Landlords live upstairs - haven't had a smoke indoors in 3 years.
To top it all off it's heated with electric baseboard heaters - which are EXPENSIVE to run in the winter. The walls aren't insulated. The windows and casings are 75 years old. It will cost less to heat the house that we're looking at than it does to heat the current place.
...and I really want my amp back.
OK, rant over - just had to get that out. Normally I hate moving with a passion - but now that it means that we're getting the shag out of the current place - I'm excited to get started.
