Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Sabbath was in town last night. Most people said it was pretty good. I couldn't bring myself to go. I hate seeing bands in big arenas. Besides I refuse to pay more than $25 for live music knowing that for $10 is saw Brant Bjork play to 100 people in a small hole in the wall. I was standing right up front. so close that I kept hitting my head against the headstock of his guitar. Still the most fun I have ever had at a show.

I plugged in my guitar early this morning, to record a couple riffs in my head. Immediately pulled a muscle in my shoulder/neck. That's what I get for not playing for almost a month and spending most of my time hunched over in a chair.

Google, eventually for the datasheet (brings up this: Invalid Link Removed) or if you have a multimeter which can read HFEs use that one. If it's not connected properly you will get no reading or something like 1. If connected properly you should get a reading which goes up the warmer the transistor gets.

Oh and yes, small venues kick ass. Best show I saw were in a small rehearsal room (50 people max) and the other one in a venue which can handle 250 people max.

Damn that sucks. That's one the reasons I'm sort of torn of which Les Paul to keep. I am going to sell one for sure. Black is not out front due to weight but sounds good. Still In honeymoon with white one. Just need a lot more woodshedding.

I was playing my Carvin, which is nice and light, but I was crouched over in my chair at my recording desk. Probably with my head tilted to one side and my knee up, to prop up the guitar. I have terrible posture.

I traded my Les Paul to Nick for my Dunwich build. It was a fantastic guitar, but it was heavier than most of my basses and my left shoulder just gets worse every year. I had already planned on getting the Carvin to replace it, no regrets because I really like it. I think the trade thing happened because I told him I was thinking about selling it to buy the Carvin and help fund the build with the difference and Nick half joked I could just trade him.

he was getting so absurdly awful it was time to go. theres still plenty of people to hate. Ramsey looks like hes going to fill that void nicely, and cerces is probably about to get 10x more awful.
