The website looks a bit sketchy, but I've had a great experience with them. A really decent preamp at a killer price. Very clean. You can save a few bucks by going with the model without a level control, but I don't recommend it. Designed by the owner of the site, but manufactured overseas. Not boutique by any means, but a great bang for the buck.

I have this switcher http://www.phonopreamps.com/tc716pp.html and it works well. solid build no noise or signal degradation. I'm sure the phono preamps are solid.

But it says "audiophile" right on the box! Looks pretty good, may give that a try after looking over it some more.

I have a little dot MKIII that i use as a preamp and headphone amp. really nice especially with the upgraded power and preamp tubes. I also just got a LD1+ and it's a great headphone amp if you heaphones with low impedance ( <100 ohms).

For phono preamp i am using a basic pro-ject box. it does the trick.

Locked down eh? Finally realized the only way to keep people from flaking was to go with the old kidnapped and locked in the basement style band?

on that subject not to be crude, but how long does it take you guys to go? I have many friends who straight leave my place to go home because it takes so long they say.

I can get in and do everything under 3 minutes (unless I'm having mcdouble trouble).

Haha, McDouble Trouble. It can take me between 5-10 minutes depending on the severity of wipage and the news articles on my phone. If I'm at someone else's place the max. is probably about 7.
