So I've tracked down a Bluebeard with a burnt out led for 135 and megalith clone for 125, the clone has a video on YouTube and sounds pretty spot on, both sold by tb'ers. Any thoughts on which I should get? I'm leaning towards the megalith because I can get two gain stages out of one pedal.

I've never played a megalith but I can say that the Bluebeard is a unique muff. It's got a presence that doesn't sound like other muffs and a very musical tone knob. The pedal actually gets a hair louder when your roll the tone back which is uncommon for a muff. But all that said its not my go to for a muff for bass. That may change since I'm kinda revamping the machete rig. It is possibly the muff for guitar hands down. Also a led is a easy fix and sonny would probably help you resolve the issue. He modded my older BB with a tone bypass.

I was never able to get the Megalith to work. It was a wall of mud for me. The BB has been on my board for a few years now. Best muff based fuzz I've come across.

Anyone have a good budget phono preamp they can recommend? I only have a cheaper Technics belt drive, but the poopy phonic preamp I'm using isn't doing the best job.

I'd recommend all-tube, minimum 300 watts if you want to be heard onstage.

lol goddammit. I'd love an all tube pre but they tend to be pretty spendy. Mayhaps I'll try my luck soldering together a cheaper ebay kit and upgrade the capacitors?
