Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I saw this CZW mentioned in the comments on something I was watching. Are any of these alternative wrestling programs on tv besides Telemundo? There is some local wrestling stuff here. I might have to go check that out sometime. I want to see some hardcore sh*t though. I'm guessing that has settled down since the 90s. I guess I'll have to buy some dvds and download some stuff. Youtube should have some stuff too. Since I mainly watched WWF as a kid and a little WCW, most of anything old like ECW will all be completely new to me. That should keep me satisfied for a while.

im sorry but this whole infatuation with pentagram is hilarious. the band was literally irrelevant for decades, and all the sudden doom/stoner music is getting some recognition and suddenly pentagram are the godfathers of it? i dont think so.

and on top of it, they just arent very good. relentless is an ok record, and thats about it.
Gonna give this one a +1, and when Mike and I agree you know it has to be true.

Wow... Good news I have three locals on the legacy GT forum willing to assist me in the motor rebuild. One real close two are a ways away but not too bad... I may just have a NorCal meet at my house for this endevor mid August. I have to get the parts together first. This month is a wash as I'll be in Richardson Tx next week. Parts are getting ordered this week though and I have a line on a engine stand and lift I can barrow. Doing all of this myself will save me aroung 2000 to 3000 bucks in labor alone. Least now I have a line on a machine shop as well that can deck the heads and check the valves.

If you guys are ever in the Easy Bay check out Val's Burgers. Old 50's style establishment at the front of the family property in Hayward. I have never ordered a pappa burger. Two 1/2 lb patties stacked with fix ens is about as big as normal size skullet. Great breakfast there too... I do my best to visit anything that isn't a chain. This is for sure a one off and can never be duplicated. Their shakes are made the old fashioned way with real ice cream and milk. Hmmm what a concept.

IMG_20140721_173248_709.jpg IMG_20140719_131611_919.jpg Perfect cure for a late afternoon migraine I had at work, Mr. Swanson greeting me at the door. Holy fn Balz this things kicks arse. Been wanting that kind of fuzz sound for a while on guitar and finally found it. The plus is it is wicked on bass too. I can't believe how quiet it is, like no noise, I figured a fuzz as crazy as this would be noisy as all get out but nope.

ROH was on TV for a while, but I honestly don't recall whether they still are or not.

It depends if your cable programming station has a contract with the promotion, or you're stuck watching nationally aired matches. Florida had a huge wrestling scene. Like four different underground, plus TNA in Orlando, plus we got all shows (WCW/WWE). And NWA and ECW weekly shows on TV.

Colorado Springs, CO? Not so much. (considering WCW and ECW don't exist anymore).

Would always see Dustin Rhodes in town.

Did you not ask for Red?
I don't know *** is going on any more... I makes absolutely zero difference to me... Just flashed in my head this would be about my only red shirt. The other Red shirt is an original Jacks Back promo from years ago, can't wear it though. Because Fatness and oldness.

Stepson makes a little coin reselling short run product, shoes shirts and such. Told him find how many you see like this in Cali.

It's a fantastic promo piece. Well see if any of the crew out here catch on.
Bay area has some doom and prog fans so hope you guys can hitch on out for some shows.

Or when we had something like a 1 lb, aged, hand cut rib eye on the menu, and some douche would order it well done. I would just put grill lines on one side and then toss it in an oven so I wouldnt have to spend the next 30 minutes baby sitting it on the grill.
Who the hell orders a well done steak?

Well, since you feel the need to air this out, how about I get the chance to give my side?
We set a price and a location to meet, which was 70 miles north of where I live. You also requested for me to find a location where you could test the cabinet out. I didn't think that would be too demanding, but after calling around, I couldn't fulfill that request...and I damn sure am not going to hook that thing up at the VA office for you.
So I messaged you and told you I could not do the deal and why, yes? And then what did you do? You blew up my phone with 7 rapid-fire text messages, lecturing me about contract law. I didn't even have a chance to respond.
Here's what you're missing in all of this - there is NO CONSIDERATION. No action has been taken that requires me to drive to Waco and hand this cab over to you. This is not an "on-demand" contract. This is not a service contract. There is no contract.

You jumped to a whole bunch of conclusions about me selling it to someone else, or I don't have any balls, or that I denied the deal. I couldn't meet your request, and what was the term I used when declining? I believe it was respectfully. Meanwhile, you've shown me none. I took the ad down because if selling that cab means having to deal with you, then no thanks. That's the reason right there.

Here's what I want you to do: 1. let it go or 2. come on down to Bell county, slap $247 on the table and let's let the judge decide.
You're trying to sell music gear without giving someone the opportunity to test it out. That's pretty suspicious and scammy of you. You kept altering the deal and giving a dude the runaround.

I think you're a rather low character.

Salt and pepper, that's all that belongs on a properly cooked steak
That's what I put on mine.

So question for you carnivores out there....

One of my friends asked me for a burger recipe. My response was, "80/20 grilled with salt and pepper?" They were under the assumption that you add bread crumbs and egg to a burger...

I was at a loss. That is meat loaf. Anyone else hear of that?
What? Lol, no.

For burgers I usually just get the leanest ground meat I can find, put some pepper in it and a little sauce, maybe some worcestershire sauce (nice, but not strictly necessary), then some more salt and pepper on the outside. What is this egg and bread crumbs ********?

I went to public school and ate cafeteria food, does that count?
You really like 80/20?
We generally get the super lean stuff and mix with pork sausage.
Yeah, I usually try to get leaner than 80/20. More meat taste that way. Also the patties shrink less.

Mayo+ketchup +/- relish = every secret sauce ever made across the fast food world, also known as thousand island dressing I'm pretty sure.

A hamburger at 80/20 is awesome as is. But I'll mix In feta, Mediterranean spices and purple onions. Then hummus, Greek yogurt, cucumbers tomatoes and onions on the bun.

Or mix in jalapeños and cheese and onions and Mexican spices and put Avacado, refried beans, lettuce tomato onion and tortilla chips on it. Fried egg if there's room or time to.
I despise thousand island dressing.

One of my college friends would mix cheese into the patties themselves. That was good stuff.

I generally just put a bunch of cheese, a little ketchup, and some mustard on my burgers. Simple.

Watching a Jimi Hendrix doc. Just got to thinking are their any documentaries where they just hate on the guy the while time rather than glorify them?

I love the Beatles, but I'd get a kick out of seeing a doc of just hate and dirty laundry kinda thing.
I prefer not getting that much specific dirty laundry. I don't want to ruin music I like.

Like I don't want to know the specifics of Hendrix's and Noel Redding's disagreements. I don't really feel like it's any of my business what they argued about.

haha.
Machismo.
Barbed wire.
Speed.

I really liked that Lemmy doc the first time. I watched it again and all I could think was Dave Grohl is such a sack rider. But it is his hero. And I couldn't say that I wouldn't do the same.
Dave Grohl tends to be really really enthusiastic abut stuff he likes, it seems.

They're okay. There are better bands from that generation of stoner doom.

You're like a breadstick, you got no rhythm.
