Good luck with that though, my dad has an Izusu Hombre that's just a rebranded S10. Luckily they're plentiful, so maybe some scrap pieces and a friend with a welding torch?

Actually with how bad it turns out it was and how much work it needs, I'm looking into scrapping it. Which..is less than fortunate. That truck came from the money I got selling my 87 fbird. Now I'm basically left with a huge welding project and a 95 dodge caravan that (KNOCK ON WOOD) is still running and was originally just my fbird's winter counterpart. So count yourself lucky you didn't come, haha.
i've been using mine in 'tandem' recently and it really shines when used with other pedals. i either stack it before the hotcake with the neck pickup or alongside a DS-1 on the bridge pickup for an angry fizz with a massive girthy low end. sounds to my ears very similar to the megalith.

Bought her a VW cabrio this year and now all is well

I didn't bond with my Rat Tail, it had some kind of weird filtering/resonance in the mid range that wouldn't go away. I do love Rats on bass though, it's one of my all time favorite bass tones. It's been virtually impossible to dethrone my big box Rat with anything boutique. I'm hoping to with the Volt Thrower, but I need to dial in the trim pots a bit.
smallsound/bigsound Team Awesome Fuzz Machine. My buddy has had a few versions. I really really liked the gated one on guitar A LOT, it sounded so thick and mean. Every time I've tried it with bass thoguh, through several amps and cabs, it sounded too squishy and blown out sounding or too starved and thin with the gain down. It gets a lot of acclaim on here and elsewhere as great bass fuzz pedals, but I just didn't like it. There's a few fuzz pedals I've noticed seem to get a ton of love that I just really don't like. Beyond just tonal taste, don't function to my requirements. Usually in the form of farting out on the low B on my P-Bass.
96. And it's a stick, which I don't drive so well. 1500. It looks to be in pretty good shape.
Fuzz wise, my favorite readily available pedal has been the Wren & Cuff Pickle Pie B. I really like the Dunwich Cthulhu fuzz as well, but I haven't used it as much due to the feedback issues with the fixed max gain (though I can tame it by backing off the volume a bit on my bass). I like the Dunwich Wizard Fuzz too, but I just prefer it way more on guitar and like keeping it on that board, same with the Cthulhu, I just pretty much always use them for guitar lately. Most of the time these days I just like really fuzz sounding overdrive a lot better on bass. The Joyo Ultimate Drive has been my go to, almost all the time. Whenever Nick gets the ODB redesign done, it will probably replace it. It sounded killer in the tourbox, just too dark for my personal taste and I know he's redesigning around that. I also love my RAT, but only on fast stuff most of the time.
Guitar player in the last band would ask my advice about gear then disregard it or do the exact opposite over and over again. Eventually he'd come back around to trying what i suggested then tell me all about how he figured out whatever part of the tone quest he was on.
It really got annoying after a while. I mean, it's my job to be educated about gear, it's what i do. I'd never give bad advice or let my personal tastes color what i recommended. It just got kind of insulting after a while.

I really like the sound of my Rat, i just had terrible feedback problems in that tiny basement. I'm looking forward to spending some time dialing it in, especially if/when i build a blender to go with it.
Welp did some screwing around and was trying some strings out. Found a set of Roto flats that I had forgot about in my gig box. They were used and I threw them in a while ago as spare for the white ric if I broke a sting at a gig. I like the tension and roto flats have probably the most tension on any string I've played. Decent highs for a flat and as always my only complaint is that they are quiet . But these will do for the time being. Kinda close in tone to the CK's
