Was taking trash out at the apartment for the second to last time and spotted this electric traffic cone.

Was gone this morning so must be warning traffic now.

Man Chapel Hill was fun this weekend, college town in the south is total Leg Season, great scenery! And when I got home these were waiting for me. Max I love the Vega Design and all the swag. And man the SSBS Mini Fucc does the pushed tube sound perfect and sounds wicked stacked into ol' Ron Swanson!

Then you have all the Electric Wizard worshipping bands and those are just as tiresome. I feel the genre in general has become extremely watered down and very cookie cutter. Hell even the new Sleep and Electric Wizard tracks were pretty lack luster. It's like they've become parodies of themselves.

Like the new Curse the Son album that everyone seems to be blowing their wad over. I don't see what the big deal is. It sounds like 50 other releases in the last year. Stoner rock fans seem to be getting less sophisticated and more gulible. it seems all you need is a female singer and it's instant cred.

I don't know why I'm so jaded but I can't be the only one that sees this...am I?

Eh, I agree with you for the most part. I enjoyed the new Sleep track, but if it wasn't by Sleep I probably wouldn't have paid much attention. I still dig some of the retro bands like Kadavar. I really love Brimstone Coven, not sure if you'd consider them retro or just occult rock. I feel like a few years ago I could open any blog and find a bunch of new bands that I'd be into, but now it's a lot harder. I suppose that's a combination of the scene being over-saturated and cookie cutter, but I also feel like I'm probably more picky about what I like now that I've been listening to this type of music for awhile.

Show on Friday night was awesome. Our sister band Fist Fight in the Parking Lot opened for American Sharks and Clutch. Easily the largest crowd they've ever played for. Probably played for at least 1000 people.

American Sharks were pretty rad. They were playing with tiny little combo amps that didn't carry very well in the 2400 person venue, but after a couple of songs they seemed dialed in pretty well. Second time I've seen them in a few months and I'm really liking that band. Before the show I told their bassist I wanted to buy a vinyl but didn't want it to get ruined in the Clutch pit so I'd pick one up after the show. After the show was over I went to buy a record and the guy told me they had sold out, which I was pretty bummed about. Half way back to my car, the guy grabs me from behind after leaving the merch booth to chase me down the street. He remembered me from the Cleveland show and felt bad that I didn't get my record, and said he'd grab me a personal copy he set aside for himself from the van. Then he wouldn't even take my money! Really cool interaction that has made me a fan for life.

Clutch was pretty rad, although there were some sound issues to start the set. The snare sounded way too huge, almost like a kick, and Tim's guitar was way too quiet. Everything sounded pretty solid after a few tracks though. They played a lot of Earth Rrocker, but rocked some older stuff like Burning Beard, Regulators, Profits of Doom, etc. During the encore Neil and JP were doing some syncopated cow bell hits, pretty neat stuff. We were right in front of JP for most of the show and he absolutely killed it. So fun to watch him play. They closed out the encore with One Eyed Dollar which was cool.

On top of all of that, my wife was trying to get permission to bring her camera into the venue so she could photograph our friends in Fist Fight. She ended up getting a photo pass from Clutch's promotionalist so she was able to up in front of the barrier for a few songs during Clutch and got some awesome photos.

Getting a big shelf off the free postings of craigslist so that will get all my books, CDs rack gear and pedals off the ground. More room for gear then.

You can select a setting to auto-reject any offer below half the list price. I still get some lowballs, but nothing too outrageous. When I do get a lowball, I'll usually kindly respond that I'm thankful for the offer but I can only come down a little bit in price...then I'll counter offer at like $5 below my list price. :thumbsup:

Yeah, I counter offered him a slight discount and he didn't respond within 24 hours so I took it down.
