Ever since I got a hand me down iPad (pORNPAD) me too as I have hold it up.

Forgot to mention, when I met up with the drummer and guitarist for potential heavy weezer band. We tuned to C standard.
Used my Hondo and dropped it down a few steps. Guitarist was playing through 2 Sunn Model T reissues with 2 matching 4x12's sounded pretty awesome.
Was using pretty much the bongripper setup, just backed the gain off my DK a little bit.
I'll have to play around with things if we get this up and running, but if we're staying in C I definitely need to get strings with proper tension. I forgot how much just regular detuning sucks.

Yeah, even going down one step on bass is not comfortable for me. That was an unexpected bonus of having a 5-string. I can play lower registers without having to tune down, just need to think a little bit more.

I liked having a BEAD with the bottom strings of a 5 string set tuned up to C standard, plenty of tension that way.

I played 5 strings for years, but I don't find them very comfortable. I've got short fingers, so chording on them makes my hands cramp up after awhile. I still have a couple of 5'ers that my uncle and I made way back when, but they're pretty much only wall decorations at my parents house anymore.

As to the gear turnover thing... I've used basically the same rig for the last three years. Same pedals, too. Though now I'm adding the Pickle Pie to the mix.

Bwah Ha Ha. Good call on trailing the slow guy until the ambush was unleashed. Though when ol' slow and chubby got Bigfoot diddled, his cries must of winced you with guilt.
