Well I played the gk mb500 into the bassic everything but the mid cut flat (that's off) and it's pretty loud that bastard air moved and such. Then plugged in the UD and hammered out a couple ultra loud notes and the thing shut off. So I guess my house didn't like both the amp and voodoo pedal power on one outlet. So I took the pedal and tried it into my little crate 1x8 combo on a barstool setup and it sounded really good and I usually hate dirt on little amps as they get so fizzy and funny sounding. So far the fabtone and UD are the only dirt that sound good on the small platform to my ears, the Bluebeard sounded terrible through the little amp but really good through the bassic. I think most dirts need "room to breath" so to speak to really open up and show what they have especially on bass (fuzz most of all).

I was using my chris Aiken p which has a 1/4 pounder like pickup, the .022 cap which is awesome, with the power slinkies I can get right at the tone of pick/nail playing with my fingers, and in the other direction just a smidge darker still all the definition.

I think it'll be quite fun to use the ABY and throw the BB into an amp into the bassic, then the UD into an amp into the dually.

So did you blow a fuse or did the MB500 go into thermal shutdown?

Saw a band with a borrowed MB800 a few months ago, thermal shutdown 3-4 times in a half-hour set. Felt bad for the dude.

Sam, you've obviously experienced first hand, what I have not. I personally don't give a damn about what y'all look like because you all can play. It's extremely hard for me to think about a band having killer chops but not the right look. I thought glam was over...?

I wish Jadd and Aaron were still running Meteorcity. Those guys had great taste in bands, and couldn't give two ***** what anyone looked like. Monobrow and Supervoid would have both been perfect fits, IMO.

Got my iMac sold, so I'm thinking I might order myself a Carvin P bass to keep in BEAD pretty soon. Just trying to figure out the options I want.

So did you blow a fuse or did the MB500 go into thermal shutdown?

Saw a band with a borrowed MB800 a few months ago, thermal shutdown 3-4 times in a half-hour set. Felt bad for the dude.

Nah it kept playing, played it about 20 min then went into the other room with the pedal setup into the wall and it fired up and I played into my crate.

Never made anything go into shutdown before.

Blown fuses before.

I've been messing with some customizations on the Carvin P. May pull the trigger on one...

I'm thinking about just doing one pretty straight forward. Alder body, maple neck/board, gloss black finish, black guard, chrome hardware, passive only, no bridge pickup. The only thing kind of unusual I always want is stainless steel frets. I'm just trying to decide whether to get a PB4 setup for BEAD or just get a PB5. I've had fivers and don't really find them uncomfortable to play, but I'm more used to a regular four string downtuned to B. The only reason I'm considering the fiver is because I do play in standard tuning and drop D for a lot of things here and there too, and when I'm in B lately I play so many extensive fills and harmonies I start running out of range when I go high up on the D string. Normally I'm kind of a caveman with my playing, but in Warp Rig we get more psychedelic influenced, so I play more and jam/improvise. If I get a four string in B I'll probably just keep my MIM Precision as a backup and eventually string up my DIY P for standard tuning.

Probably not news at this point, but I'm a fan of the 5-string format.

It would just shut itself off, then come back on after it cooled down for a minute or two.

Id include Easy rider on that list...But does that make me not want to get signed by them if they like us? F no, I want to be on the same label as Salems Pot. Honestly if the guy told me to wear more flannel and denim and smoke more pot, I'd totally do it, but I already do all of that soooooo...

Labels want bands that look like they are awesome. You know someone that's living the rock and roll lifestyle, road proven and look like they can do copious amounts of drugs.

Labels want bands that look like they are awesome. You know someone that's living the rock and roll lifestyle, road proven and look like they can do copious amounts of drugs.

Trying to come to terms with a conundrum. It seems that I'm incapable of drinking liquor anymore. The slightest sip of alcohol makes me vomit and the smell makes me wretch.

Anyone here ever encountered this?

I drank pretty heavily about a dozen times when I was 18/19. Had some bad blackout drunk times with some pretty bad hangovers. I think this might be my body telling me "No more of that you Sh*thead, you should have learned your lesson by now!". Problem is, now I'd like to be able to have a little drink with my wife, or occasionally to lubricate the creative cogs. The smallest sip of rum (first attempt at drinking anything at all since about March) resulted in immediate unexpected vomiting. *** did I do to myself???

I'm not trying to sound bitter, or disrespect any labels or bands. nor am i saying the we should be on a label because as a non-touring band i don't necessarily believe we should be or need to be, but I think it is naive of us to think that in s/d world image doesn't mean anything....

yeah there are a few exceptions, but there's also a very clear trend. Also didn't mean to single out tee pee but their site was the most convenient.
