Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Morning all.

Starting off the day with The Bends.

Still a top 5 album for me after all these years.

Next up, Sabotage.

Just scored a malekko 616 dark off reverb for a great price. Stoked, been wanting one since I got to test one out at Chicago music exchange awhile back. Nice dark analog modulated delay. Never can have enough delay.
I know what you mean. I'll probably never save enough for a moog, but the DOD delay I have works really well (after I fixed it) for what I want to do.

Superunkown is a friggin classic, I've been obsessed with that album since it came out. I never got the whole: "they sucked after badmotorfinger" b.s. - superunknown is an epic psychedelic masterpiece. So is down on the upside.

Officially moved into the new house yesterday. The damn cat kept me up until 4am, he's not happy about the move I guess. Ended up locking him in the basement so i could get some sleep. Another day of furniture moving today, then we'll still have some packing and cleaning to do. Can't wait until this is over.

Totally agree, to this day I think it holds up against any good psych-rock. Fourth of July is still one of my favorite songs.
Yay for moving! So I guess the truck thing for worked out?

Badmotorfinger is probably my least favorite, although I haven't heard the last album they released but apparently it's pretty good.

I love the new set up the black widows in conjunction with the kappalites seem like fill in all the blanks for each other, the kappalite give me this sharp aggressive midrange and black widows go way deeper than that kappalites I think I made the right choice, whenever I get radial bigshot I'll be trying the Vulcan through the black widows and the Bassman through the kappas.

Yeah, he was at a trade show and had no reception, got it sorted out yesterday morning.

...and 4th of July is probably my favorite song on that album.

Love that album. People Let's Stop the War is fantastic, especially when he kicks in that fuzz bass. The original 3 piece Grand Funk is just great. I highly recommend tracking down the 2002 album Live: The 1971 Tour, it's a great live album. So is the original Grand Funk Live Album.

I found it on Youtube, pretty cool.

but i also found this, which I prefer the sound/production of.
