Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I can't wait for this show. These different bands can hopefully get us a different exposure.

We might play New Mexico. Launch pad seems to be where big bands play, but we ain't big. Does anyone know of small level stuff in New Mexico? I might have a friend we can stay with. I also heard New Mexico cops pull over anyone with Colorado plates. Which could really suck.

Launchpad is the place - I opened for Weedeater and a bunch of other bands when I lived there 12 years ago. Shouldn't be too hard to get a show, though. There's a new place called Sister that's having stoner/doom shows as well. Also, Burt's Tiki Lounge is another place to check out. They have live music every night, no cover charge. It's tiny, but a very cool place. Kyuss played there once or twice back in the day, apparently.

I know guys in two stoner bands in ABQ, I'll shoot you a PM with some contact info.

Woke up with one of them on my face once while camping.

I always sees those at the reptile shows. Dude must be nuts to freehand a venomous animal, unless I am mistaking it for another species. My Chica(Mexican beaded lizard) is venomous and even though she is as gentle as a lamb I still wear special gauntlet gloves for cleaning her cage and what not.

The Gila monster is venomous and looks almost exactly like that lizard. The Gila is an incredibly protected species though so you'd be in serious trouble for having them.

Yeah the Mexican Beaded lizard is the cousin to the Gila Monster. But the Mexican Beaded lizards are legal to keep, buy, trade in the reptile industry(some states may vary though but VA is fine to own them). I would never keep something illegal in my collection or yank something from the wild.

Blood curdling shriek. Like a horror movie scream queen. That's how I would sound. I would probably try to get someone to shoot it off of my face.
Take the shot I got two eyes LOL.
Speaking of scary shite while camping. Anyone notice this movie trailer yet, looks like a fun Bigfoot movie from Sanchez. I love the image of the tree flipped upside down and stuck back in the ground like that. Plus nasty mean ol' bigfoot running super fast and chasing and slashing his way through campers.

I didn't watch the trailer, but I want to see it just from your description.

I'm generally not into the first person shaky cam stuff. Some are good, some not.
As long as they don't do that digitized thing with the screeching where it gets all blocky and you can't see anything for a half second, like they did in the trailer.

I really enjoyed The Last Exorcism though.
I need to rewatch Blair Witch some day. I hated it when it came out.
