Saw All Them Witches and Windhand on Friday. ATW was incredible. They definitely have that Nashville-raised-played-guitar-before-I-could-walk swagger to their showmanship and it was awesome. Sounded really good.

Windhand was great. One of the better live sounding doom bands I've ever seen. I also think their music is way more interesting than most doom bands. The singer recognized me and remembered playing with Supervoid, so that was cool.

Cool score Max. I picked up an '80 MIJ guitar this weekend, since I don't have anything for writing in standard tuning (or anything but B). Really digging it, the stock pickups have a Dimarzio Super Distortion kinda tone to them. I don't play guitar that much anymore, but I really like this one.

I found a decent deal on some flex steels. Is there an issue with buying super long scale strings, and trimming them? The regular scale is $8 more than the super long. I didn't foresee an issue with trimming them down, but wondered if anyone else sees an issue with this?

So hungover yesterday I couldn't be bothered to much more than lift the remote/ps3 controller.
I need to try to limit myself to no more than a 6 pack. My insides still hurt. Woke up with a beer in my hand that I poured all over myself after I passed out. Nice.
I'm getting to old for this sh*t. haha. We have a work function party thing tomorrow too... I think I'll be drinking soda.

Could be an issue of getting them to fit in your tuning pegs if you have to trim off all of the taper at the end. Not sure if that'll be a problem or not, though.

These are cheaper than the webstrings I was looking at. 13.77 amazon prime.

Is that the only problem anyone can foresee? Fitting the tuning pegs?

Those are sweet, sweet guitars. They are DiMarzio SDs if I'm not mistaken.

Buy that time they were making their own dimarzio clones. Has some in the destroyer bass I got from bee bass. They sound cool but not sd's might be worth opening up to see I may be mistaken,

Just read some posts on Short scale basses with regular scale. The most common advice, is don't cut past taper as strings unravel. I always cut past the taper, and never have had an unraveling issue previously. I think I'm going to try these out. Been a long time since I played SS strings.
