Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Well, i just took the American Sound for a quick spin. I think it's a keeper. It does the tube breakup sound very, very well. Between the voice control and the three band eq there's a ton of flexibility. I'm really kind of amazed at how good it sounds right now. IMO, it's head and shoulders above the behringer sansamp clone. Thirty bucks well spent.

I still need to mess around with it to see how it plays with dirt pedals, but I'm liking what I'm hearing.

Is that a clone of the Tech 21 U.S. Metal? The Mesa Boogie character series one?

Ah, ok. The Blonde is pretty popular in certain circles for guitar, I know. I don't normally go in much for amp sim pedals either, but the Tech 21 character series designs are really good. I have a couple and have used them a bunch. I'd like to get all of them, just to have the options, wish I had more cash to burn on pedals.

Is the new Orange Goblin a full album? The only thing I've heard from them this year is a single called The Devil's Whip. It's unmistakable Motorhead worship. I feel like I should enjoy it, because I do love Motorhead. Some influence from that band almost guarantees some interest from me, but flat out aping their sound never works. You can't out Motorhead Motorhead. Orange Goblin has been a rollercoaster ride of emotion for me over the years. Frequencies From Planet Ten was one of the first stoner rock albums I ever bought and I got way into them. When they turned into a more straight ahead metal band, I lost interest. Same with Alabama Thunderpussy and a couple other bands that followed a similar trajectory around the same time.

Joyo has clones of most of them, and you can get them for $30 with free shipping.

I've seen the copies of the British (got it), Liverpool (got it), U.S. Metal (want it) and Blonde (eh, don't really care about Fender tones, but why not?). They don't have any copies of the Oxford or Leeds though, both of which I've been wanting a while.

EDIT: I do wonder though if they're copies of the ver 1 models though, since they don't have a button to toggle the cab sim on and off.

I understand there is a simple mood for some of them to disable the speaker Sim.
I'll follow up with this when I find it again.

Think I'm going to get an acoustic guitar. I sucks at guitar. But I figure if I get something with a super wide nut, that should help with my lazy fingers.
It's between a Recording King 000 or a Cordoba classical. 2 totally different things. Haha. Think I'm gonna go 000.

This way I can acoustic black metal in the woods when I move.
