weird uneasy feeling after a relatively inconsistent practice and some tension involving the singer's general cluelessness about the arrangement of the songs again, at least the new guitarist is really great and fun to play with and the drummer seems to realize that he's another weak link, because his inability to play basic fills only compounds the singers free form interpretation of when the various vocals go in the song, we play good at shows, but the practices can be kind of painful, hopefully when we have an arty documentary made about us next week, everything will be so fuzzed out like the youtube videos that the vacuum cleaner like od will sound so creepy and atmospheric that the looseness will be less distinguishable

If you get a chance to see Dr Know do it. Kyle is on point, great show. AA killed it as always. New lineup all vets. Felt for Greg as his SVT pro2 keeps going into protect mode at the slightest dip in amperage from power source. Goes from all good until the two half stacks light up... Click... No bass. Shame cause when it's rolling his rig kicks ass.

I've been lucky. My Akita has only chewed chairs that were outside while he was a puppy (teething), socks (stinkier the better), or his toys (almost every Christmas another pile show up).

Weird. I've been to the Gilman when bands with pretty serious rigs were playing, and it didn't look like anyone's cut out. Hell, that's where I saw Yob for the first time, and Mike and Aaron were both using two amps each. I think the bassist for Dispirit used an SVT 2 or something at that show, as well.

I'm guessing the power there is... not good... though.

Sometimes I worry about the kinds of places I plug into when we play, but there's not a whole lot I can do about it besides get an outlet tester to check if poopie is grounded.

It's biased hot. He knows it, he needs to take it to a shop. Also why I never even ask to use it when we practice at their studio. Wasn't but 5 min or so and Mike (Oppressed Logic, ZBS...) popped through the side door with his rack and the band fired up.

One of the reasons I like the voltage indicator on my Furman on the power amp rig. Need to put the plug tester in the gig kit, good point.

Friend has been scabbing electrician jobs in the Tri Valley lately. He's appalled at the shortcuts he finds. Bonding Neutral to the conduit is NOT how it's done kids.

Alright dudes. Upcoming show one week out. I have a basically entirely new rig and have not been able to fire it up (I live in a 2nd floor apartment and do not have the ability to move it on my own with my car, also both of our practice spaces are furnished so I literally only need it for shows.). This is less than desirable. I may/probably will sound like dookie, but I think most of the people in the audience will either not care/be incapable of discerning a difference, or will not be able to hear my dirty signal or attack/articulation.

The rig will run as follows,

G&L SB-2-> TU-2 -> ABY -> Output A (clean/dimed gain dirty)-- SVT4 Pro Monobridged into 810e //// Output B (Doit) Fire Ant -> Smoothie -> Blower Box -> Eden WT550 into 215(maybe running 415s).

I understand there are a ****load of variables at play here. I am going to try and have my drummer talk to the club owner(he has a great relationship with them) to see if I can load in a half our early so that I can set up and do a little knob tweaking. It probably won't be enough time and I may not have this opportunity, but I have to work with what I have got. I should also mention that I will probably only get one channel on the mixer.

My effects chain (mainly due to the BB) yields a reasonably beefy tone as is, into a flat EQ. Because of this, should I run the ABY at the end of my chain and forgo the clean/dirt idea for now and just focus on loud from the amps? Maybe cut the lows on the Eden a little to squeeze some better matched juice out of it? If I keep the ABY where it is, should I try to cut the lows substantially on the Eden and focus on boosting the 600Hz+ zone?

Maybe I shouldn't mono bridge?

I realize that all of these options are doable and are more a matter of taste. I just simply do not have the time or ability to really play with it pre-show. So I appeal to the Lords of doom. Would you please bestow upon me your collective wisdom so that the sound of shite might be avoided, whilst my sonic hammers will still be heard over four 150W tube amp half stacks? I am truly open to suggestions. I need a mental starting point so that IF I can jam for a few minutes during load in, I can make it brief.

Outlet tester is something I carried with me everywhere I played. Unfortunately that's a very small part of "bad power."
The big part is brownout under load. Which you'd need a voltmeter and measure, while your playing. It's a three hand, two-pair of eyes problem.
Generally old buildings with aluminum wiring and cheap connectors are most often subject to this.
Makes tube guitar amps sound great. Some rectifiers will poopie the bed when trying to work with low voltage. Surprised a svt2pro went into protect mode.

Try to play with it before you go on stage at volume . It may sound good low but then you turn up and start farting. For a rig like that to be balanced will you need time with the band to make sure it's what you need. For the board if I hear you right you have a Blower Box. That going to the board and hose will sound thick and you could keep your stage rig cleaner.
