Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

image.jpg
I never get a project that's just one day and done. Always need something I don't have.

Tore the guts and pickups out and installing a gfs humbucker in the neck that'll volume then jack. Got a set of .12-.70 strings for it. Sludgy fun times.

been getting some overdrive and or pedal distortion squishyness from the mesa d180 tube amp on the e string of multiple basses, it's pretty prominent on the fretted B, hoping since the clean tone is normal thus far i won't have to worry about things until after the halloween show, anybody know anything about this sort of thing happening?

BAM! THERE YOU GO!
First real good singer blow out moment in a year and a half with these guys.
I don't think its over with him...
Just he had stacked up some chips on his shoulder and let it fly walking right into practice, ragging out our drummer.
It was time to get everyone expectations in check again. The universal agreement is recording but the argument is in house or external.
External cost money. They can't pay. Then reset your priorities... Do the poopie in house for now. This takes time.
Everyone in the band has a poopie ton of odd ball things happening at the end of the year.
It was time to boil over.
Never a forking dull moment with 4 individuals working on a project.

Gonna coil tap it as well? You should.

I have a push pull 500k pot so you may be on to something...I just want thick raunchy tone from this bastard, and I love a single coil tone pretty much always on guitar.Curious to try it with my dirts and see what sticks.

The dirt battle continues. It's a little early as my whole setup is not here with me. That said I need to do the tone bypass mod to the Bluebeard. Also at 10-11 on the fuzz knob the feedback gets diminished and everything sounds a bit different and I like it. Max volume and full on tone. I guess I'll use the lpb-1 to boost it since I don't really want any tonal sculpting beyond what it does.

Yeah pretty much exactly... I just accidentally cut him off in line at the bar in the middle of Neurosis' set. Then initiated brief fanboy conversation by saying "Misssster Anderson!?" Oh hell I am the biggest dork alive. He was cool though.
Yeah... I'd have to do that myself. Use it on any Anderson I come across. Have heard he's down to earth. Nice to see festivals happening like this in the states. Should be more of them IMHO.
