Dudes, I'm listening to Angel Witch's self titled.... NWOBHM, this is where the ROOTS of Stoner Rock come from, this **** is awesome. If you haven't, look into Angel Witch, Saxon, EARLY Judas Priest, Diamond Head, Candlemass, etc.
It was black sabbath's influence on these doods that helped create new doom/stoner bands. Angel Witch is just rockin' so hard right now...

Whoa, hey, I don't know if you were in the band when we played, but I'm King Bowman's bassist (From Edinboro, PA). We played our second show ever (so we sucked, which sucks) at the Roboto Project with Satanic Bat.
I've tried a couple times to get SB up here, but nobody wants to put on shows up here it seems. Some day...
So, I finally got me some Colour Haze!
I just ordered "Los Sounds De Krauts" off allthatsheavy.com. Hope its a good one to start with. I like the fact thats a double disc. Can't wait till it gets here, I've heard nothing but good stuff about these guys. Most of the MP3s on their site sound pretty spectacular.

I just saw a local band round here called Red Desert Jesus who had a gnarly stoner sound. One dude played an acoustic the whole time with the lead guitar pretty much emulating it but with maximum "earth and Sunn " distortion.

The next album in line is 'Colour Haze' and the newest one is called 'Tempel'. Both excellent stoner albums.
I've seen'm live a couple of years ago and they blew me away. They manage to get that exact same guitarsound of their albums on stage. Quite impressive.
Yup, been listening to it the last few days. It basically picks up where Robot Hive/Exodus left off. There really is not a whole lot of difference between the new stuff and the last album, which is a little unusual for clutch, but it still rocks...in a very bluesy kind of way.
Has anyone mentioned Acid Bath yet? long thread, didnt quite read all of it, so im not sure. but Acid Bath is the coolest psychedelic/rock/metal band ever. i dont even know how to describe it really. but they are one of my all time favorite bands. check them out!
also check out Deadboy and the Elephantmen. it is the singer from Acid Bath's new project. way different from acid bath, but good stuff. sort of has a white stripes feel.

I love Acid Bath. That singer's got another band called 'Agents of Oblivion' that's really awesome too!
Oh yeah, I have been there pretty much from the start. I remember playing that gig with you guys. I was the guy that had the big pedal board and I split the signal to my bass rig because we didn't have a bass player yet. Well, we added one and now things have gotten even cooler than they were before. We'd still like to come up your way sometime. Maybe we could hook up for another gig down this way too.
Yeah Agents of Oblivion came right after Acid Bath, but they arent together anymore as far as I know. but you're right, Agents is awsome music also.
Right on, that's awesome. Glad to hear you guys got a bassist, your split signal bass worked really well, but whenever you had to play lead, the bass signal got shut off, and went away.
I'm so bummed we haven't got you guys up here yet. I'm sick of leeching on peoples shows, when the weather clears a bit, I really want to put on a metal show up here (wherever will take us, because that's another thing, there aren't too many great ROCK/METAL venues around here). But when the weather clears, I think I'm going to talk to the Beer Mug dude (who luckily enough remebers King Bowman and really likes us, which rules) and get US a show setup. Probably you guys, King Bowman, and Village of Dead Roads (who I'm playing bass for again).
I know Sven (drummer/singer, right?) probably thought I gave up on getting you guys up here, but now we are starting to get a small fan base, and can get venues to let us play. But when things clear a bit (it's too ****ing cold), I'LL try to set up a show.
Monster Magnet's first 4 albums are amazing Stoner rock, but Powertrip onwards, they kind of "sobered up" in a sense, and just did kind of generic Bar Rock, which I kind of like, but their early stuff blows minds.
Yeah, splitting the signal worked for a bit, but we mostly just did that until we found the right person for us. We didn't want just anyone to handle the low end and waiting paid off. We've really started coming around to something that's all our own. Check out our myspace if you get a chance.

I doubt that Sven thought that you guys gave up. We know how it can be. Right now we're concentrating on demoing our newest tunes and finishing up writing a few so that we can go in and record a full length. We're not looking for too many gigs until that's done. Summer should be good though.
