Stoner Metal/ Stoner rock

I meant to last November, but they played the day after Thanksgiving and I was with my family in St. Petersburg (right next to Tampa) while they were playing in Tampa. In order to see them I would have had to make up a lame excuse about having to go back to school and boarded a bus to Gainesville, then found a ride back to Tampa. Too much trouble and too much money.

Screw it, a 4 hour car trip is much less painful.

Yea isn't Opeth on that tour? There are some really heavy acts on there but it should still be good. There is a lot of variance of heavy in there to keep the show interesting.

EDIT:

- OPETH
- FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES

Definately going if I can.

Thats an interesting line up...not quite sure what to make of it. i will not be attending this, for one its not coming anywhere near me. and 2, I'm not crazy about alot of the bands on there...If it were my show it would be HOF, Clutch, Lamb of God, Devildriver, the Rd Chord + special guests Mastodon. :)

Anyone into stoner who hasn't seen High on Fire yet must go check them out. They are soooo sick live. Pure power, similar to being trampled by a pack of pre-historic woollly mammoths on angel-dust.

I've seen HOF a few times. But never in a large venue/festival type of setting. The times I saw them was in smaller bars and clubs. Best one was right before surrounded by theives came out. In at this little filthy little dive-bar in Brooklyn, NY under the williamsburg bridge. It was dark, no stage, and crazy hot in there. It was a perfect show cause it had such a raw vibe. And talk about loud.

Now w/ Joe Preston on bass they're unstoppable :D
