Long story. I'll make it short.
Went in to get a Fender Blacktop or G&L. In a humbucker mood. Played my guitarists G&L a few weeks ago and just liked the sound. Guy at GC (who I have known for years) said "We dont have a Blacktop in stock but have you tried the new Dimension?"
Me: No. It's ugly. (Sorry, I [DEL]am[/DEL] was a Fender P or J bass "purist")
Dealer: Look, you already have two precisions.
Me: Three
Dealer: OK Three... Just TRY this. We have a 30 day trial period. If you dont like it, return it and you can get the Blacktop.
HO-LEE CRAP!
Fast forward to Sunday night at the studio. For the first time, the band had to actually tell me to "TURN DOWN!" and the singer said that she can feel the bass in the pit of her gut.
The action is unbelievably low for a right-out-of-the-box set up and the variable of sound from the three tone knobs are so wide it's great.
I am impressed.
