Strings for metal bass

Im looking at circle K .142's, is there anything that comes close or better for less money? 40 bucks a set is kinda expensive IMO but I'll use it for recording my bands album if its the best I'll find

Carvin sets are around $15 and are stainless steel so they last 3-5x longer. Due to not corroding you can boil them back to life a few times.

Im definitely set on the circle K's after this video. It's exactly what I'm after tone wise, except Im going to use a B3K + sansamp.

On a side note, are there any 6 string bridges I could upgrade my ESP one from? My esp one follows a 6 screw pattern of 000 000 and I dont know if the circle K's would fit, seeing as a .135 is a challenge.

What model ESP do you have? Hipshot hardware is pretty common when it comes to upgrading ESPs without having to drill any new holes.

Check out the quick release bridge from allparts. Should be able to accomadate the Circle K strings and be a direct fit for your ESP. I chat with Scott Fernandez over on facebook a lot and he is trying to get me to convert to Circle Ks. Think I may give them a shot.

BTW nice bass. Played the b-416 awhile back and almost got it until I got my hands on an Ibanez BTB676. ESP makes a great 6 string. Their B206 is amazing for the price too.

Here's the screw layout.. it seems slightly different but I'm not sure

Notice there's a spacing between the third and the fourth screw?

Depending the style you play, I would either go for nickel plated or stainless steels from Pyramid. String gauge for the Low B would be .140 :)

If you're a pick player most of the time, I would recommend stainless steels. If you do a lot with your hands (so things like slapping, tapping, bass sweeping, etc.) I would suggest nickel plated.
