The results are very interesting, especially when so many people responding in the comments gave answers that I don’t care about at all. It was never about, “what would you choose to use?” It was about, “what would you choose to use from the list?” Such typical TB behavior.

In my head, it has always been down to the Lo-Riders or the cobalt flats and those two received the most votes. I ended up going with the Lo-Riders and I have to say, they are perfect for me on this bass. I think the cobalt flats would have been very good as well, but I have quite a few basses with them, so I didn’t want to go in that direction.

Nobody is voting sadowsky steels. Those are very nice. Not a bright steel but very good mids which are perfect for getting a fat growly Ricky tone. If you want to sound closer to the old school Geddy Lee Rush sound these would be my pick. DR fat beams a close second. When I had my ric clone I really liked Dunlop signature series steels.

If you like rounds, I'd put anything the closest to Rotosound 66 on it (in your case the Sadowsky SS). That's the classic Rickenbacker with rounds sound. For flats I'd try Pyramid or Thomastik if possible, but I'd likely also like the Group flats from your list.
