Similarly I've been told that I "can't play a Chili Peppers song" with a pick..."Because it's sacrilege". Erm, you what? I CAN and DO, so what's your point? It might not be considered the norm, but dammit it's what I want to do, how I want to play and how I want to sound - I figure I'm going to be playing the thing for the rest of my life, I might as well do it how I like.

I know damn well what I'm doing to the resale value. Sometimes it's not all about the money. And I bet there's someone out there that also has the same taste in awesomeness as me and will pay more than the original resale value to buy my bass.

As a guitar player turned bassist in a punk band, I resemble that remark!

I'm really working hard on thinking like a bassist. I don't just play root notes all night. My goal is to become a bass player that plays guitar, not the other way around.
