I'll try the Boogie channel return again, but first try Subway has real mojo with some OD/Symmetry dialed up.

Tried the new DI-Pre II into the front of my TT-800.

TT Gain switch low, DI-Pre Deep and Bright off. Doubling up on Deep and Bright muddied things.

Not a good blend going into the Subway channel, but seemed to work well into the Boogie channel.

Due to level matching, the effects return in the TT is a better choice imo.

I just got the Subway+ II and have a question about recording with it.

Should I run the preamp out into my recording interface and then into the DAW? Or should I run the XLR into the interface instead?

The manual indicates that I should use the XLR out...but the preamp seems to offer hotter output.

What have your experiences been like using it straight into a DAW? I have a MOTU M2 and run Reaper.

What is the input sensitivity of the DAW? Since the preamp's XLR output is a hot mic level output (around -20dBu), you might want to double-check that your DAW can accept a mic level input.

If you use the preamp output, remember that it's tip-ring-sleeve balanced line level, so if you want to stay balanced line level, check to see what the line level input and conector is on your DAW and use the appropriate cable (it will be either TRS-TRS for 1/4" balanced) or TRS-XLR male for XLR balanced).

Thanks for the response.

The TRS max input sensitivity is +16 dBu and the XLR is +10 dBu, if I read the specs for the interface correctly. The interface accepts Hi-Z, line level, and mic level inputs.

I used the preamp out into the DAW and it seemed fine...a bit hot, but usable.

I ran the Subway+ DI at 18 volts.

Ok, it looks like both inputs are line level so the XLR output on the preamp won't have enough level..

With the preamp output, using a TRS cable, you will be around +4dBu average with the master in the 12:00 position with the average bass and playing style. If this level is too hot, you can turn the master down a little.

There's no problems with level or impedance matching using the TRS preamp output directly into your DAW, that's how it was intended to be used.

So, I have been indulging in some preamp stacking in this sense.
I set my WD up as I normally do. Then I plug my active bass running passive into the Subway preamp then into the WD and use the Subway 3.0 preamp as I would the internal preamp on the bass. I start with the preamp flat or neutral into the WD then adjust the preamp to enhance the bass like I would with the bass's preamp

I haven't read the entire thread but I can't figure out how to use other pedals with mine. How do I use my pedals with it ? What is the secret ? Maybe I need to send and receive with the effects loop, thanks

That doesn't sound right, I think you will see them much sooner than that. You might also look at other UK dealers.

I would use one or the other HPF, but not both simultaneously.

Curious how your WD passive mids interact with the DI voicing? Likely there I'd use one or the other, not both.
