Suggest a flanger pedal

I can't compare the BF-3 to the other flangers mentioned since I haven't used them, but the BF-3 would be worth trying out at least I think. I'm pretty sure it can be picked up on the cheap used and it even does a simple slicer / chopper effect when set to Gate / pan and run in mono.

My favourite affectation of sound... flange!

Moog Ultra Flux ... One TBer upon it's hype up to unveiling: "If it's a chorus/flanger, I'm going to be right upset. I've been lusting after several different chorus/flanger/modulation pedals over the years: Polly (the Stereo Polychorus), the Fulltone Choralflanges (CF-1 and the to-be-released-two-years-ago CFV-2) and the Strymon Ola and Orbit (two pedals, but two awesome pedals). I cannot justify spending copious amounts of money on something I might not like (not anymore), and Moog has a reputation for being great, but prohibitively expensive, especially if you buy the pedal from the Chicago Music Exchange, like I did."

Wow ... nice list. Now that is what I call making a suggestion.

Flanger has many variations on the theme. For the folks that really like the flanger effect, having multiple flanger pedals is the best course of action. I wouldn't expect one pedal to be the end-all, be-all flanger pedal.

Looks bigger in pictures...

Here is a pic from back when I had the whole set.

Adapters.jpg

The Rogue pedal is MXR-sized.

I love flangers. One of my favorite effect on bass.
I use two the Boss BF-2 and the MXR 117R. The Boss cuts through and sounds a bit clean/cold 80's style. The effect is focused on the mids. The MXR is warmer sounding more musical and richer in tone. If I had to have only one I would pick the MXR but the Boss has its placed too (think Cure bass line)!

Of those two, the Boss sounds more like what I'm looking for. How is the BF-2 compared to a BF-3?
