Are there any old threads specifically about processing your own lumber that I could resurrect? I'm thinking about firing one up.

Same. Just following along. Maybe (just maybe) I’ll learn something.I'll be entering the cheering section.
I would just move the furniture into the garage and turn the house into a shop.Gonna have to sit this one out. My garage gets way too hot in the summer for all the sawdust flying around.
I'll just sit in the air conditioning and live vicariously through everyone else's builds.
Off the top of my head, I don't recall any, but there may be something that's really old. It's a great idea though, as the topic of where to find xyz lumber comes up pretty regularly. Processing your own, whether right from raw logs, or just gluing together boards to make a body blank would be a sticky-worthy resource IMHO.Are there any old threads specifically about processing your own lumber that I could resurrect? I have studied it some, and would love to hear from people with experience. Are there any old threads specifically about processing your own lumber that I could resurrect? I'm thinking about firing one up.
I hoped to make the Summer Build Off as inclusive as possible. The non-bass category came up because of the non-bass instruments this past Build Off. I just figured they were just as open, informative and inspirational as every other build thread and should get a chance to compete against one another. I think choosing between a 7 string guitar, a flamed padauk electric zither, and a rube goldberg type marble machine would be fun.
That's how I understand things.Do I understand correctly that this summer the non-bass category will be a voting category as well?
Yes - the plan is to include them in the voting and compete with one another. Which will be interesting where there is a nuclear-powered electric zither competing with a motion-sensor-activated bass gong.Do I understand correctly that this summer the non-bass category will be a voting category as well? I think in the last WBO it was non-voting, but for this build-off some (friendly) competition could further encourage this category.
I missed the WBO earlier this year, but I think I can make some sawdust this summer. I already have some ideas floating around. Muahaha!![]()

Alright, count me in. Now I have to come up with something crazy, superconducting pickups perhaps?Yes - the plan is to include them in the voting and compete with one another. Don't forget the Dilithium crystal pickupsNuclear powered - ha! - I'll be doing a matter-anti-matter reactor, complete with a warp core!
I'm looking forward to your "pile of parts" pic.I'll be doing a matter-anti-matter reactor, complete with a warp core!

Just as long as it isn't a warp-core from a Galaxy-class ship--- those things would breach almost every other week.Nuclear powered - ha! - I'll be doing a matter-anti-matter reactor, complete with a warp core!
Beej, can this also include bass related, non instrument gear like a bass cabinet or head? If so I have a couple of ideas, but still maybe only in time for the next WBO.Non-Bass Build - scratch or partial build that is not primarily a bass register instrument

Ok geeks... I'm building a bass that will travel the Mycelial Plane via a Displacement-activated Spore Drive Hub!!Just as long as it isn't a warp-core from a Galaxy-class ship--- those things would breach almost every other week.
