I was actually going after the roller/axle assembly. Not sure if it would be what I need for the larger sander, but it's worth a shot.

Oh, yeah, forgot about those.

Had some time to get the Brazilian Cherry leveled with the sander. I had to recalibrate it (the sander) a few times, calibration tool shown at the lower portion of the photo.

I decided to start gluing it. The 2nd 'wing' needs a little more sanding before its ready
I used to tell the new guys I was training at my old job, “Sometimes the answer actually is a bigger hammer but not very often so you better try everything else before you go get the bigger hammer.” I don’t think you have anything else to try in this case though. 
It took some work to get it level, but the 2nd wing is on. The heat and humidity didnt help.
I'm hoping to get this planed down and maybe start getting a rough shape cut next weekend.
This is the back, the neck would attach on the left. I sawzalled off a section that was not level since it's not used in the final shape.

Still in the planning stages
Wood is out of the clamps, I hit it with the Bosch electric planer to level it out some. Theres a few spots where theres a small gap between the laminations. 
Oh well...

The next step was to get it leveled on the router planer. It's been hectic in all other areas of life, so I'll get to it when I get to it.
Nice looking grain
I sanded the bottom edge and put some water on it to see the color. What an odd piece of maple
The electronics package is coming together slowly. I'm torn between making it what I want and just doing what needs to be done before the deadline (and go back and change it later if I want)

Yeah, about 2.25"/57mm. And lopsided.
I have to make a way to hold it steady in the router planer jig. Target thickness is about 1.60"/40mm.

I was wondering if you were maybe going for a curved/concave body style. Would that be typical of a Thumb? I admittedly am not overly familiar with Warwick.

this made me laugh. Here in the UK, Fords are built in a town called Dagenham. Here in the UK we often refer to said implement as a Dagenham Screwdriver or a Dagenham persuader!
