Sunburst Geddy Lee signature?

It's funny that they get stereotyped as a "Lord of the Rings" or a "Dungeons & Dragons" band when I think they only ever sang one song about Lord of the Rings, and it was on their second album. It was very bad, and they never did it again (thank god).

I think it looks awesome.
I'd go with a black pickguard to complete the look.

I've been saying for years that Fender should expand the Geddy Lee Signature line to include his all his live basses such as the Sunburst dropped-D bass as well as the "2112" whole-step dropped Custom Shop "Red Geddy". Granted, even if they only use a 1/8th" veneer to "simulate" the Flame Maple top it would likely be an upcharge... but I'm sure they'd sell more than enough to make it worth it. As for the Sunburst, they're making the '70s Jazz with pretty much that body, so simply CNC a batch with 60's pickup spacing and it's all good.

...then again, it's been almost two years since Geddy started talking about improving the tuners and removing the gloss from the neck on the production model and nothing of the sort has happened, so I'll starting saving my pennies for one when I read the Press Release. ;)

Why would they put 60's pickup spacing on it. His Custom Shop jazzes are based on his 72, which has the wide spacing.

Hopefully it's not just the look that will change with the new signature model. I'm wondering if Fender will throw on the Seymour Duncan pickups that I see on his sunburst jazz or just the stock ones that are on his black jazz signature model.

Sunburst, Tort, maple and blocks is it. Ok that's what my '70 is and I've loved it for 30+ years.

Actually maple with blocks looks great with any thing except black and natural.

It is my favorite Fender neck.

Now if they can make it sound as good as mine I'd be interested.
